Round 2 and 3...Mike reminds me a bit of Marlon Starling, in how he roughs up Tyrell with the forearm up close and then lands on him...introducing Biggs to the big boy's playground.....like Starling did to Mark Breland.

Hey Russ, fellas. I saw Mike " The Bounty Hunter " come to Oz as an " opponent " for Jimmy Thunders who was an unbeaten 10-0 prospect and Hunter destroyed him.

The guy was one of those fighters who looked VERY natural n relaxed in the ring. It was a huge contrast with the very mechanical n upright Thunder.

His kid is pretty good too.

    Cheers Fellas.

Head feints, ducking, moving in and out low, Mike just befuddled Tyrell.

Hahaha Red, yeah mate it was on free to air tv as Thunder was pretty hyped early in his career.

Hunter wanted to emigrate here after the fight but it was discovered he had a pretty lengthy criminal record and that was the end of that.

I really liked Hunter but it should be pointed out that Biggs was way past his prime when they fought.

Yep it was a bit of a turn here in Australia for sure mate.

Thunder was being touted as an Aussie/NZ answer to Mike Tyson (based on not much) but Hunter completely exposed him as a bloke with a punch and not much else. This was further confirmed shortly after by Derek Williams who blasted him in 2 rounds in a Commonwealth title bout.

Hunter was skilled and had a very good chin but was the definition of a “loose cannon”. As stated he had huge natural talent but his out of the ring issues contributed to him not fulfilling his potential.

The Bounty Hunter despite his late start to boxing because of a stint in jail for armed robbery had incredible natural talent and skill. Hunter without a doubt can be added to the list of boxers who squandered their potential to be a World Champ because they could never stay clean or focused.

Great stuff. I hate how Hunter's career/life panned out. Such a total shame.
