Wilder may be the most devastating HW puncher ever...certainly comparable to Tyson or Dempsey

Thank you. The board treats every fighter in completely binary fashion. He's either invincible or he sucks. But it is entirely possible for someone to acknowledge Wilder's destructive power and the entertainment he brings to the sport while *also* acknowledging that he's still crude in some respects and less tested than he ought to be at this point in his career.

It's the same for Joshua. Yes, he's a bit stiff and has not been too inspiring of late, but he's probably the most talented and complete fighter in the division. Or maybe you think Fury is such a bizarre head to head matchup that he's best, and of course he has his flaws too.

So much more fun to discuss fighters honestly than constantly pushing an agenda. It detracts from the quality of the forum.

'How would you like to know if Arslanbek Makhmudov is so strong?

Last night, at the Casino, Makhmudov terrified and knocked out his opponent.

But here we are talking about Jason Bergman. It was his 45th fight. Not to mention dozens of rounds against Deontay Wylder, Oscar Rivas or Tyson Fury.

In other words, mileage in the body.

Bergman was shot down in two minutes. Pif, paf, boom.

I found it in a corner of the Casino that served as a locker room for blue boxers. He was receiving his pay check from a board member.

He was kind and affable and I asked all the questions that came to mind:

"His strength is really special. He knocks hard and heavy. It is obvious that he still lacks experience and that he strikes when opening. But it's the guy who hits the hardest I've faced, "he said.

    Wow! Minute.

Bergman made eight rounds against Joseph Parker, he worked with Deontay Wilder: "Wilder's right is faster, more accurate. But it's less strong than that big Russian. It's not a joke, it's not an exaggeration, "he added.

    With Rivas

Bergman, who spent a few weeks working in sparring with Oscar Rivas, was still impressed. Short question, long answer. Genre:

    - Can Quebec fans ever hope for Makhmudov in the world's elite?

    - Definitely yes. He still has to learn, to shorten his strokes, but it is a force of nature. No doubt. It's an experience to face it, even after 44 fights.'

When the topic is Wilder's power, his greatness, skill level, resume, etc are irrelevant. Any time you see someone respond criticizing his power on that basis, you know they are pushing an agenda.

It is relevant to say, maybe he's not knocking out the very best people. But I think his overall %, the nature of these knockouts, the size of the people he's dropping with one shot, and so forth, make the case that he's an ATG puncher.

Keep in mind that when his career is complete and they do a KO compilation, it's going to include a lot of title defenses. Yes, not always the best opposition, but if you look at Tyson's KO reels, what do you see? A lot of horrible competition, in fact, much worse than what Wilder has faced. And mostly smaller guys, too.

What Iron chinned, Prime Sam Peter, David Tua, Ibeabuchi, or Atomic Bull has Wilder KO'd for people to start such foolish posts?

He does he is a scary puncher who hits fast. His defense is his offense. That is going to eventually be his problem.. But if he can land first in all his fights and stop the other guy, he will keep winning.

I don't know about the last bit. Chuvalo and McCall both were hit by combinations from people who at least hit as hard as Wilder and didn't go down

That now looks a 50/50 fight..I think Wilder could stop him with one shot, not guaranteed, I also think he needs to catch them with a combo Joshua, whereas its one shot from Wilder imo

The comp has been pretty lame, by and large. My esteem for his power (in large part) comes from that everyone he's knocked out, it's the most violent that fighter's ever been knocked out.

Wilder's hasn't KOed anyone as good as Baer or Schemling.
Wilder, despite clearly wanting one, hasn't got 3 bodies on his record.

Do you mean Americans only? Any list without Wlad is suspect at best. And if Liston is #1, where do rank Ingo who also demolished Patterson and unlike Liston, destroyed Machen.

You clearly haven't seen Baer fights. Find a movie where a bar brawl breaks out with drunk ppl.

Wlad to me isn't top 5, but if anyone put him there, I'd have no complaints. The only reason I dont say he is top 5 is because I think the others hit harder.

Liston clearly had more power than Ingo, again imo. And Liston boxed against Machen, from what I can remember he didn't even attempt to go for the kill. I think Foreman is naturally more powerful than Liston, and I think that Wilder is naturally more powerful than Louis but they didn't structure their punches as good as Louis and Liston which adds lots of power

I have seen Baer fights, he was pummeled by Louis, but had a broken hand. He was clearly outboxed by Braddock, and the rest I've seen are highlights. But if that's the reason that Baer can't be there then neither should Wilder
