Rocky Marciano makes the list and not Joe Frazier. Who I don't know actually beat a prime Ali.

Might as well render the whole list useless at this point.

Or Bernard Hopkins who had one of the longest reigns over one of the weakest divisions in the sport at 19 is absurd.

There's no chance in hell that Whitaker and Chavez would still rank above Mayweather.

A Thurman win would be good, but Thurman isn't the man anymore (if he ever was). Pac might win.

If Pac beat Crawford or Spence, that would move his ATG ranking up quite a bit.

Thanks man. Im not much of a boxing historian... but I dont quite understand the reasoning behind putting Hopkins, Marcianio, ect... above Pac.

    Just imo though.

Its pretty crazy to me the lack of credit it sounds like Pac will be getting if he wins this fight.

No... Thurman is not in the peak of his prime, yes hes had injuries, layoffs and poor outings. But the guy is still a top 3 welterweight, near his physical best, with a comfortable size advantage, without many miles on him damage wise, and come fight night will be much closer to his best than the 40 year old Pac will.

Its like people are throwing out the condition and context that Pac is in should he actually win this fight and are focusing solely on Thurmans.

If Pac is able to beat Thurman at this stage, its a very good win.

The hate is real against Manny. It's like they just refuse to see how great he is and how much balls the guy's got. They hate the guy because he is doing things that they just cannot fathom. Before the fight was signed, everyone was talking about how this cannot possibly be true, its only a rumor, Manny is too old and shot. After the fight is announced, the same guys are now saying that he cherry-picked Thurman, he is ducking Spence and Crawford, Thurman is shot..... This little asian midget had been proving them wrong over and over again.

I really hope that Manny still has it in him to beat One Time Thurman, and even if he loses, he's earn mine and the majority of "REAL BOXING FAN's" respect.

I feel pac would and should beat Thurman no matter what and beating fighters you're expected to beat does nothing for one's legacy. Be a great win only because he's in his 40's but nothing that's changing history.

Losing to horn did more against pacs legacy than beating Thurman ever could improve pacs legacy

Not so sure about that. It was not too long ago that everyone had Pac done for, written off, and he was completely done for. That he was going to continue to fight the likes of Broner, Rios, Lucus just for easy money because he was so broke and bankrupt. Never will we ever see Manny step up against any young hungry lions, undeafeated champions after ktfo6. Now he does just that, and no one will give him credit?

So what you are saying is that Floyd's resume is completely trashed because he was supposed to beat everyone, and he was favored heavily in just about every single one of his fights? You can't be serious about this are you?

Wait....what?? So you're saying that Mayweather's legacy is complete trash since he was expected to beat everyone he's faced? Makes no damn sense.

People have constantly written Pac off for a while now ever since he got knocked out by Marquez and there's still people that are doubting Pac in this fight. The fact that he's still fighting at this age as a part time boxer and facing an undefeated champ is already a testament of Pac's greatness and his willingness to still step it up while being past his best. If Pac beats the brakes off Thurman then this would undoubtedly be considered another top win and will enhance his legacy. It's amazing how people are already lining up the excuses and not wanting to give Pac the credit he deserves.

Pac is the most disrespected guy in boxing. The amount of disrespect he gets is crazy from fans and the media.

    Examples:
    • FightHype actually asked Roach if Pac was just fighting for a paycheck (no other has received such vulgar and rude question) — basically Pac fights because he's broke and Floyd fights because he loves to entertain LOL
    • Lots of media flat out asking if Pac chose Thurman because he looked bad; no media ever asked Floyd why he chose to fight Ortiz when Ortiz went live and death with Berto the fight before suffering 2 KDs and being on the verge of getting stopped
    • Plenty of American fighters have come out and said Pac is on PEDs, yet no American fighters have ever questioned Floyd's IV use and ultra low T/E ratios

    Thats just ridiculous though.

Are you implying that every win in boxing history where the favorite won, has no value to the legacy of the winner?

So youre basically saying that only fights you win as an underdog are legacy enhancing.

I dont even know where to start on explaining how ridiculous that notion is. And how many great fighters had quite a few of their best wins coming with them as a favorite.

Guys like Mayweather and Roy Jones would have practically no legacy according to your logic. Absurd.

Only problem is, you've just discredited every win EVER that the odds on fave won.
