I think its a lopsided fight but if Spence is the one calling for it then game on. If this fight gets made I see Canelo getting a highlight reel KO over Spence. Spence is easy to hit and without his size he'll be average. He has a disadvantage in everything against Canelo. I think height maybe the only thing he has.
Spence has said recently that he's wanna fight Canelo but he didn't say which weight class he's gonna fight him.
Well, that's coming out of left field. I'd rather see Spence clear up Welterweight and square off vs Bud, but I'd watch this.
Spence has little, or no chance against Canelo....at this stage. Canelo would weigh-in at fight time at lightheavy.
I think that Spence knows well what's gonna happen if he moves up 2 weight classes to fight Canelo now. I would suggest him to wait for Canelo to be older and past his prime before fighting him if Spence still has no problem making 147.
That is not what I am saying at all. The guarantees were actually $8 Million for each fighter however Spence was a one of the promoters of the fight via his Man down promotions. Why will he fight Canelo for $20 Million flat fee DAZN money now when he will get as much like he did for Garcia and more against the likes of Pacquiao, Thurman and Crawford. Also his next fight against Porter is going to be a big payday. In 2 years time after he has cleaned out Welterweight and Junior Middleweight he will fight Canelo for much more as probably the A side. You may have missed it but both Spence and Mikey Garcia have been really happy after their fight.
I think they are about the same age actually. This fight will happen in a couple of years. Oscar needs to be careful because the other side are very good at beating him both in the boxing ring and in business.
My point exactly that they are about the same age 28/29. So they can fight in two years time and the fight will only be bigger and in their peak years.
Spence at 147 = weight bully, Canleo at 152 vs floyd + 15lbs confirmed heavier on fight night = drained. = lol
I really hope Spence doesn't do this.....yet. he needs to take care of WW first. Fight Porter. Get that belt. Hopefully get Thurman/Pac Man winner after. Then the showdown with TC. Then if he clears all those hurdles his reward is Canelo. They are like 28 and 29 I believe. They would both still be around 32 when it would take place. Going through WW and becoming undisputed then get Canelo is also his most lucrative. Plus if he became undisputed in WW then beat Canelo he would pass Floyd I'd think. Think of the names he would have. Kell Brook Mikey Garcia Porter Thurman or Pac Crawford Canelo That is a crazy scalp list of he were to get through that. Plus undisputed WW champ when it was loaded.
