I have not been a Wilder fan - and even less so with his comments on "killing" etc. Highly disgusting.

But I have to admit - and I think we all have to admit - that Wilder is one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet - perhaps number one or two in the World. We need to stop mocking the guy and give him the respect he deserves. That right hand is a great leveler.

    What say you?

He's the most dangerous in the division for anyone. That's not going to change until he slows down, which could be soon with his age and putting on weight

Until the Fury rematch he can only be 2 imo and even then I'd have him at 3 or 4. He needs more good names on that résumé to be no.1

That's the reason I've always rooted for him, sure he lacks skill and is uncoordinated as all hell, but part of the reason many of us are fans of this sport, is because we like the brutal spectacle of it all. We want to be entertained and have a cathartic experience. Well his matches are invariably almost always entertaining, with the ever lingering question mark of will he be exposed tonight, and they almost always deliver the violence for us KO lovers out there, which is the vast majority of boxing fans. There's unskilled, sloppy, featherfisted yet dull fighters, which leads to 10 rounds slap fight wars that bore the hell out of you, but that's not the case here. To go to war with Wilder, its like threading a needle in the eye of a hurricane, so his opponents always have to be mindful of his power, which also adds to the tension. He's one of the few fighters whose matches, be it against bums or not, tend to be spectacles. So I'm still not sure how anyone can hate the guy. Not to mention, he loves playing the heel, like old school WWE guys in the 80's. He knows he has his fanboys sewn up, well like any good showman, he knows he needs to the loyal opposition, because sometimes hatred of a fighter brings in ratings as well. Half the audience tune in to see him deliver a huge KO, the other half tune in to see him get KTFO. Wilder is savvier than most of you seem to realize.

    His power is real

When he loses though it will be via violent KO because his legs will be crossed over and he will be hitting air like swatting mosquitos at a BBQ and leave himself totally exposed.

I think he proved in the Ortiz fight he can get hurt and come back. That’s a test every fighter has to face at some point. Since that fight I’ve respected him more. Wilder is exactly what he says on the tin which is why I like him. He doesn’t pretend to be some sort of master technician. Your guaranteed drama when Wilder fights. And obviously his power is crazy. Joshua-Wilder is 50/50 at this moment in time IMO. The best fight to make in boxing currently. Shame it won’t happen anytime soon.

Yeah Wilder is the real deal because he fought 12 years and still hasn't fought a person who isn't/wasn't old or a tomato can. Yep and beating slow tomato can Dominic Breazeale proved Wilder is the greatest heavyweight who has ever lived. He clearly has the most amazing power of any heavyweight who ever lived. Which is why pretty much all of the "best" fighters he fought 50 year old Luiz Ortiz have been knocked out by other guys before they fought Wilder. Also for the most part these same fighters Wilder knocked out were knocked out much easier by other fighters.

I thought Wilder was top 30 a few years ago. Now I see him as top 5 give or take.

Definitely the #3 guy and the Povetkin he ran away from in 16 would have knocked him out.

still amazing how people are in awe of a fighter knocking out a stationary fighter with one punch.

He over tries to be a showman and gets it so wrong! It's cringey, and to turn it into 80's wrestling shmack to boot as stated, Well.

im not sure what you mean by "real deal". can he ko anyone if he catches you? yes he can. is he a top 3 hw? yes he is. is his boxing ability overall, B or better? no its not.
wilder is the beneficiary of half a dozen separate things that lined up just right, to put him where he is today. from the overall level of talent at hw, to the guys specifically chosen for wilder, to the way these guys choose to fight wilder, to the way fans interpret what they are seeing, to how willing those fans are to accept whatever they get served, etc...
i dont hate wilder, i would much rather have an american hw champ than a foreigner. not because i care, but because i know how that bothers so many, and i think thats funny. but i got to be realistic about what i see, wilder cant fight, he just has very fast hands for the reaction times you find at hw. he hits hard, but not atg hard, he just finds you when you dont have time to react.

Wilder can punch and thats it lol he lets his punches go at the right time and catches guys standing stiff at the end of a punch,, You don't see if very often nowadays guys exchanging but Wilder is not afraid to let his hands go while you are punching either,, Talent wise not the greatest at all but he can punch and aint afraid to let'em fly,,
