I think Shane was better than Tito. I think Tito had power, but he always thought offense which would hurt him against Shane, who is strong and would hurt Tito and possibly drop him early. He is a little quicker than Bernard, so I think his punches would get to Tito.

I’d pick Trinidad. Sure, Mosley was faster and thus looked more “skilled” and “slicker” but his boxing IQ, adaptability or defense were no better than Tito’s. Tito would hit Mosley and if Mosley got hurt he’d probably go too defensive and hold a lot.

I can see Mosley cleaning up a bit early then Tito warming up and winning down the stretch to take a close one. Tito really had problems with movers or fighters that used disciplined defense, Mosley doesn’t fit that. He’d beat guys he could hit enough.

I've always thought that Shane has the tools to win the fight but I'd really question his will to win in a shootout or war of attrition with someone like Trinidad tbh, especially if he took a few choice shots flush in the early going. Easy to see him becoming dispirited and reluctant to let his hands go enough despite having greater speed, a better chin and comparable power/accuracy in exchanges. Especially against the younger, less rigid/straight ahead version of Tito. Tough fight to call imo.

Tito has become a forgotten great .. its fascinating because at 147 he ws a monster who never lost. I love Shane and feel he was a top ten at 135 but at 147 Tito may take his head off.

Often times if Mosley didn’t like the other guys power he’d just want to hold. Look at the Forrest fights. Forrest isn’t in Tito’s league and hits nowhere near as hard.

Trinidad never lost to an inferior fighter than Mosley whereas Mosley lost to and struggled with guys inferior to Tito.

Trinidad would have given Shane a beating. Shane was far too hittable to beat Tito.

One of the best fights that never happened..
At 147 Mosely by decision, may be late round TKO

Trinidad was one of the greatest punchers to ever grace the 147lb division. He had fast hands and his skillset was polished. He could put a man down with just about any punch in is arsenal.
If Mosley had a tighter defense more of a defensive mindset he would have a chance to go the distance.

Tito by TKO 7 or 8

Tito is so overlooked these days. His power was incredible. I saw it up close (Mayorga) and asked fighters who tastes it (Lueshing) and it was different level.

Trinidad was a better welterweight. Shane was tough and would probably last the distance, although I don't rule out a late rounds TKO.

Trinidad just has to make it to the finish line to win on the scorecards on this DKP fight. Shane has to thoroughly outclass him and dominate the rounds to even win rounds on the scorecards. He might win rounds but they would be close rounds and he will not win 7 rounds on a DKP co-promoted fight. So Trinidad w12 because he is not stopping Mosely.

This would have been a great fight, at 147 Trinidad by TKO.
