Hughie Fury's fight on Sat was attended by 80,000 fans in Manchester - factually accurate if we take off three zeros and security staff.
Can’t find an article anywhere. Confirmed showtime numbers between 300,-325,000. A solid figure by the way! Nothing on the BT numbers.
Link? 6 months after the fight... That said BT are a pretty big platform. Fury comeback rated well and some of the champions league nights get huge pay tv audiences. The only difference with sky sports platform is really the lack of sky sports news. Youtube etc can get round that but thats directed at people who are looking for stuff where as SSN can get passive viewers too.
Figures are almost certainly complete nonsense. Tyson did around 500k against Klitschko on Sky in a fight that was absolutely panned. He then goes away, fails to sell half the tickets for Manchester Arena in a rematch, gets fat, has a joke fight against Seferi, is literally booed out of the ring against Pianeta, and suddenly does nearly the same in the middle of the night on BT? Nobody believes this.
You believed that not one away fighter won a round on the Garcia Spence undercard because “Eddie said”. Please apologise, mate.
Wouldn't surprise me. BT did a great job with the promotion and the Fury mental health story pulled people in.
The quote is "not only 300,000 people in the United States, it was viewed by 450 in the United Kingdom". It's not clear whether he means 450,000 or just 450. Either way, I take everything Fury says with a pinch of salt. This content is protected 20s in
Gotta be honest if be surprised if 450k stayed up to watch it in total, let alone 450 separate PPV buys!
Would be shouted from rooftops by Warren and Fury days after the fight if this was a true number. Not casually mentioned on First Take 6 months after.
