I can afford to pay $100 for a Big Mac, doesn't mean I will. But I guess the old saying holds true, "there is a sucker born everyday."
I wont even be glancing at the round by round here on the forum... let alone watching it. First Wilder fight I'll be skipping in a long time.
Eh... idk lol. Im not the hardcore fan I used to be these days, Ive regrettably become a.... dare I say... casual. So usually the undercards arent on my radar anymore. But we'll see I guess lol.
Start Saturday, Saturdays AJ Ruiz card is absolute pigdog. I saw an interview with Hearn going off on people complaining and saying it's a great card and spinning it.. Now I have defended Hearn many times in the past but in my opinion he is now taking liberties and is blatantly mugging of Boxing fans. I can't and wouldn't defend that card, it's awful in my opinion and I won't be buying it. I wouldn't buy ANY Fury fight without Wilder or AJ as the opponent now (Maybe Whyte), Fury is boring, it's seriously boring, watching Fury prance around, play to the crowd and jab his way to victory is OK the first few times but I want more action. Wilder is far more entertaining than Fury but like Fury his usual opponents are average at best. I won't buy any of their fights unless it's one against the other or maybe Whyte is an opponent.
Do you actually not get it? Firstly, 'punishing them'? Really? I suspect they'll somehow survive. Secondly, the point - one I've been making for a while - is that the only way to force the big fights into happening with these greedy HW's is for the ticket sales and PPV sales to plummet for the fights that aren't meaningful. They'll continue to find ways to avoid fighting each other because they know they can get paid well regardless. If those other fights start paying less then the only way for them to make big money again is for the fights the fans want to actually happen.
What you are describing is a good standard Saturday Night main event fight. They used to be a thing once upon a time.
