If Schwarz beats Fury would Schwarz be the lineal champion?

    The man of the division?

I think Fury is the best HW but
Some questions to the ones who know more -

1.) If he outpoints, stops Fury or a freak cut happens and the fight gets stopped in Schwarz favour or a DQ even. Would Schwarz be lineal champ?

2.) If Fury takes time off for another two and a half years, is he still lineal champ like many felt he was before?

For those who still consider Fury to be lineal champion, then yes to both.

For those who don't, no to both.

A bit of a loose answer Tazz. I asked about lineal before and had so many say yes, which I struggle to see as he wasnt active and I would think not. I would say undefeated former lineal, like L Lewis is a former lineal, but the question of now stands.
So not to what people think but what is considered correct

So would Schwarz be lineal champ

Being away for 2 and half years and you can still claim it?
Say Joshua and Wilder had of fought before Fury came back, would that be a new lineage

If you think Fury is, then yes.
If you think he isn't (like me) then no.

Either way, it doesn't matter much, as it isn't of much importance.

first off, YES, if schwarz wins, he is the lineal champ.

but if you ask what is the worth of being "lineal champ", the answer is Nothing! you are a champ of Fantasy land!!

So the whole point of this thread is just to argue Fury shouldn’t be considered lineal.

And your argument is that he shouldn’t be lineal because if he loses some shitty boxer will be lineal.

    That’s a stupid argument. Sorry.

I don’t know if Fury should be considered lineal, but your specific argument is bad.

    These seem accurate:

Yes, he would win the IBC (Imaginary Boxing Championship) belt and become the supreme heavyweight lineal champion.

And in doing so, joining a long list of proud IBC champions like:

    Imo yes.

Lineal to me is a pretty simple concept that people try twisting to suit their preference of how they think it should be or how they want it.

Lineal is simple. Are you the guy who beat the guy.

But that's the thing Kirk. If it's really the guy that beat the guy, then every lineage has ended ages ago. New lineages have started and many times people disagreed when, where, how and if it happened.
Klitschko didn't beat "the man" but people saw him as lineal after a while. For beating Chagaev or Povetkin, who weren't "the man" either.

Yes. Ali was gone for 3 years when he came back he was lineal, just like Fury was after coming back.
Yes, until Fury himself came back. If he never came back then them two would create a new lineage. Another example would be if Lennox Lewis came back tomorrow he'd be the lineal champ.
