Curry at his peak was a better fighter than Forrest. I think Forrest was a tricky enough customer to cause Curry some concerns but class wins in the end. Curry by mid-to-late rounds TKO or KO.
I don't think Forrest was much better, if at all, than Milt McCrory (a similar fighter) if I'm honest, though that's not a knock on either man, and we saw what Don did to the latter who choked somewhat. Forrest was a very good fundamental boxer at mid to long range but I've never thought that such a style or approach is suited to beating Curry. That accurate, sharp -shooting, stalking boxer puncher style will always fare well against someone who likes to control distance behind his jab and doesn't have exceptional power like a Hearns to deter. I'd take Curry within 6 if I'm honest.
I think Forrest was better than McCrory, and would do marginally better. But still, Vernon didnt really have anything in his tool kit to compete with Curry. Curry in 6-8 sounds about right.
I think Curry was just better ...better counter puncher ...better on the inside...he outboxes forrest
Vernon Forrest was on a nice little tear like DC before both ran into bullies and lost in huge upset ( Maryoga and Honeyghan ) . I go against the norm and if Forrest could handle speed demon Mosely he could also Curry. Forrest pts.
