The rematch is a mistake for AJ, he should invoke the spirit of Lewis and take the long road back

If he takes the rematch he loses again, this wasn't a fluke, Ruiz had Joshua timed and his counter combinations were too much for Joshua to handle. This isn't something he's going to be able to learn how to counter in 5 months. Joshua needs to invoke the spirit of Lewis, change trainers and build his way back to the top.

If he takes another loss vs Ruiz (which I'm confident he will) his career as a top flight heavyweght is just about done. He's 29 and eerily the same age as Lewis was when he lost to Mccall, he has time to come again.

In the rematch AJ must just jab and hold Klitschko style or he loses.

I'm not sure his career is not over already after losing to the Pillsbury doughboy. At least the guys that flatlined Lennox in one punch looked like boxers.

Gee. I don't know. What does being in shape have to do with sports.

There's different body types, Ruiz has an endomorph frame thus he couldn't look shredded even if he tried, same thing with Fury. I mean, he was clearly in shape as he just won .

Agree 100 percent. Joshua can't afford to lose two in a row, my guess is that his team will think about this and forego the rematch and look for one or two confidence builders.

I think he CAN win. He was boxing fine until he went gun-ho for the KO and got caught.

McCracken was right though, no hooks!! just jabs. He definitely felt the pressure from Wilder's big KO.

You think Ruiz is that fat simply because he's an endomorph? No, he's just a lazy guy. And by the way, EVERYONE can be shredded. Endomorph or not. If you lose enough fat, you will be shredded. And no one is asking for him to be shredded anyway. But he came in at 270.

Luis Ortiz is an example of a guy who isn't close to shredded but looks like he at least tries and comes in in respectable shape.

I can't see AJ beating that version of Ruiz on the rematch unless he makes drastic changes, which i don't think he can!

AJ was completely dominated in those last few rounds.

the idea you 100% need to be ripped as all hell to have an upper hand is bogus. this isn't sprinting, it's a skill based sport. ruiz clearly excels in spite of his fat and hasn't ever appeared to suffer from the stamina issues or speed issues you'd expect from carrying excess fat. so why continue to badger on about it? is the resentment that he could be faster? have better output? how much more could he realistically gain becoming slimmer. and if he did get so called 'fit' he'd end up a CW and would have to rely on extra muscle mass to make HW , which ironically might then end up slowing himself down like so many overly bulky types do.
