Usyk is the same size as Muhammad Ali was and bigger than Evander Holyfield and he had HOF skills. He is taller, longer and way more skilled than Andy Ruiz and his main competitors are Wilder (no skill, just right hand) and Fury.
Yes I do. Every matchup is different. Usyk... as good as he is, and p4p better than him, is not Ruiz. Fury is not AJ. Ruiz beating AJ has absolutely no bearing on Fury or Wilder vs Usyk
Fury vs Usyk is the fight I want to see. As Fury gets back to shape I'd love to see their skillset face off. I'd pick Usyk but Fury's pretty slick himself when at his best.
Usyk will weigh the same as Wilder, or roughly within 5-10 lbs. Do you really think with that considered, Wilder's 1 punch power is enough to make up for Usyk's P4p skills? Fury is the only guy who can stop the take over. Even Fury admitted Cunningham gave him his hardest fight because of his slickness and speed/size.
Ya I can definitely see Usyk beating Wilder, Id have to take a closer look when the time comes. But I tend to view that matchup as one where Usyk wins the battle but loses the war. I just see him getting caught at some point and, unlike Fury, I dont see him being able to continue. However... If he is able to avoid that right hand, ues its an interesting matchup. Fury is the one that I dont give him much of a chance against. I just dont see it. Unless Fury goes off the rails again, which is possible.
Exactly! Usyk would not be able to achieve what Ruiz did today, that was nothing short of amazing, and Ruiz has sent shockwaves across the world.
For the record I like Usyk and I admire his assault on the division and I will be watching with extreme interest to see how he does. I just have never felt hes quite as good as advertised.
Look Usyk is amazing... for the millionth time but he ain't achieving what Ruiz did today... Ruiz has some serious attributes on him that made him heavyweight champion.
Winning a HW tiitle and cleaning out the division are two different things. Oleksandr Usyk's really good, but he hasn't Ruiz' power for instance. Can Andy Ruiz clean out the division? It was his night tonight, but it's doubtful. Usyk's one of the best P4P boxers around and can win a HW title most likely, but will have to rely on his boxing skills against mostly bigger men. It's doubtful he "cleans out" the division.
