I personally wouldn't want him to take the rematch, they say most fighters gain another 10% as a fighter after they win a title, confidence and belief, also Ruiz will have a full camp.

AJ's confidence will be very brittle now, will he be gunshy? will he be tense and tire with all that muscle and his stamina didn't look great tonight.

If they are genuinely thinking long term, they might have to take a different direction, if they are desperate for those big fights (that are not as big now) then they might take the gamble.

If AJ loses the rematch then he is toast as a PPV fighter, I believe Hearn will want to "build" AJ again.. PPV "The Comeback".

I think this has derailed the bandwagon, just the way the defeat happened, with Lennox Lewis for example, you could sort ornate brush it off, its heavyweight boxing, is was ONE punch, He was caught by McCall and caught by Rahman.

AJ was beaten over 7 rounds and dropped 4 times, this is much bigger build, not just for the bandwagon but for AJ himself.

He should have good fight and I will be ready for the rematch and then took his defeated butt on back across the pond.

AJ has been exposed. I doubt he has the brains to improve his boxing craft.

Probably more to do with to being 5.30am.

Lots of Brits, myself included, are very happy with this result.

Imagine if the rematch was at Stadium Azteca on one of the Mexican holidays.

Also forgot to mention mad respect for Ruiz walking out to Nipsey Hussle “Dedication”.

Easily the most thrilling sporting moment I have ever witnessed in person. Best part was seeing the solitary vocal Ruiz fan in my section go absolutely bonkers when it went down.

I could give a sh*t about all those machinations. Ruiz is THE CHAMP and a Show Pony goes down. And he's just as likely to beat Wilder as the other way around. Wilder too forever to get rid of Spilka. He can't give Ruiz that much time to operate.

    A Great Day or Boxing!

Fury's elusiveness doesn't have much to do with his durability. As a matter of fact, Fury has a tremendous chin. He just has a propensity towards getting caught off-balance. He wasn't distressed or fazed by the Wilder knockdowns, nor any of the knockdowns he suffered beforehand (against Pajkic and Cunningham) - he got back up and it was business as usual. Fury's chin is not a good yardstick by which to measure Wilder's power.

Breazeale is actually a decent measure of Wilder's power. He's a decent fighter in his prime who has only really been knocked down by serious punchers. Wilder wrecked him. Wilder's power is of course legitimate. Actually it's more a case of Wilder's power and timing. That's what separates him from the rest. He has an in-built ability to land a punch right at his opponent's weakest moment.

I doubt there would be much difference between the power of Joshua and Wilder's punches if they were to undergo some sort of psi testing.

The question is, could Ruiz react to Wilder's punches faster than anyone Wilder has faced so far outside of a crusty Tyson Fury? I think there is the distinct possibility that he could.

Be wary of travelling on the Wilder hype train. It's already been derailed and it only maintains its position on the tracks because of the good graces of Showtime bought and paid judges.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joshua retired, it seems as if he doesn't have it in him anymore.

No way. If he was to fight Ruiz and get knocked out again then maybe. That’s why he should avoid the immediate rematch.

AJ will come back with hunger to win his belts back. Maybe he’ll change his style in the ring now the pressure of staying undefeated has gone. He could become a more dangerous fighter.

You're really, really hard in the opposite direction. You know that, right?

Just so we know where we stand, I am not a Joshua fan. I think he has been fortuitous in his match-ups and received the benefit of a well-established promotion agency to get where he is now. Or was, yesterday. I don't think he's the number one heavyweight right now (obviously), but I do think he's top five.

Brother, let me tell you, this is the right of every Mexican!

Let there be a rematch and let the unified heavyweight champion of the world, the 1st heavyweight champion from Mexico fight in his home country and honour his people. Just as champions have done throughout history, why should Mexico be deprived of this honour?

Andy Ruiz Jr deserves our respect and if we are an honourable sport then he should be granted what has been granted to almost every other champion in history.
