Questioning a fighters heart?

All fighters are tougher than the average person and they all have heart but there are some guys who are tougher than others and Joshua is not the toughest guy around, that would probably be a better description lol.

 

i see nothing wrong with holding them to a higher standard than we hold each other, they are professionals. courage will be measured just like stamina. if i say aj got the fight beat out of him, im not implying i would have fought on in that situation, im saying theres pros that would, and they deserve recognition.

 

AJ is fine. But Parker was indeed gutless. You saw how a fighter who actually wants to win fights. Ruiz showed it to you.

 

Getting up from 4 knock downs from Wilder is called heart. Fury showed it in the Wilder fight getting up from that 12 round KO and then taking punches after wards on the face and still maintaining calm, composure and staying in the fight. Similarly after being comprehensively outboxed for 9 rounds, showing the will and desire to still win the fight by non stop punching and then finding that 12th round knock down is showing heart i.e. Wilder

Getting up from 4 knock downs from an unknown light punching Ruiz is just embarrassment, spitting your gumshield out in desperation to buy time, taking a knee in desperation to buy time, not looking at the referee and looking dazed, confused to your corner after being floored by a light hitting Ruiz is embarrassment. AJ quit in the end and clearly showed he had no stomach for what he was up against.

 

AJ has shown balls on quite a few occasions. He showed a massive heart vs Klitschko, getting up off the deck after being crushed by a gigantic right hand from a huge puncher, and coming back to stop him. You can question his defense, and why he still leaves his head on the center line after he punches, etc. But you can't question his power or his heart. The dude got up 4 times and was on wobbly legs from round 3 on, and continued to fight. AJ is a tough dude, period.

 

When I have said a fighter has no heart I'm usually comparing him to the greats of the sport with heart. Obviously every fighter has heart. Just some more than others. There has been plenty of cases where boxer has downright quit and showing no balls or heart.

 

Where are all the AJ fans who mock Wilder for his chin and heart every time he has appeared wobbled and on shaky legs in his fights?

 

I probably would have spat out the gumshield too, in a bid to get a few extra seconds to clear my head. That's far from the worst thing a boxer has ever done. * shrug *

 

I mock Wilder for his crappy skills. Does that count?
