I just rewatched the ending and I realize what happened. In joshua’s dazed and concussed state he thought he was saved by the bell/round had ended. Explains why he got up and walked directly to his corner and was taking to his trainer. Explains why he took a resting position in the corner. When the ref asked if he was ok and if he wanted to box he said yes, but didn’t walk out to the center of the ring. He thought he had his one minute to rest. He thought the ref was just checking on him in between rounds as refs often do after a fighter gets in trouble. Also explains his shock at the ref waving the fight off. A few seconds later his head cleared and he accepted the results with no excuses. So not a quit job. Just a guy acting goofy for a few seconds after getting ko’d.
Who’s saying he wasn’t? I’m not saying it was an honest mistake. I’m saying Ruiz beat him around so badly that Joshua had no idea what was going on and that’s why he got knocked out. I’m just saying I think that explains his bizarre behavior in the last 10 seconds or so
