First of all, I’m sure Ruiz is better now than pre-2019. He was in very good shape for Joshua and those who can’t see are making superficial judgements.

Parker was more of a brickhouse with a well rounded game who fought at a measured pace. Joshua is more dynamic and has a great offense which he has used to hide significant flaws. He was not enthused when he found out Ruiz could take his power and was unable/unwilling to adapt.

    Equating a 185 pound slowhanded 68", 5-11 fighter with a 260 pound, fasthanded 74", 6-2 fighter should be a career ender.

Sometimes Idk what people are watching. Rocky’s best assets against modern shw is his stamina, chin, and power. If they get tired against a normal shw after five or six rounds they’d fall from exhaustion trying to keep up with Rocky or Frazier.

You can think Ruiz has slightly faster hand speed.
But calling one man fast handed and the other slow handed shows a favoritism fueled comic book level understanding of boxing.

If Rocky fought today there would be videos of him training on YouTube titled “Marciano DESTROYS Heavybag with FAST EXPLOSIVE Punches!!”

Insinuating that boxing matches are determined by how quickly punches are thrown is a career ender.

How long do you think Ruiz lasts against Wilder? Because I’m pretty damn confident he’s out in the first or second round.

Have to say I was impressed with his chin. And would like to see someone pressuring Wilder constantly. I think Fury boxes circles around Ruiz but who knows

I highly doubt Ruiz Jr is 6'2". Povetkin is 6'2", he clearly looked taller when contrasted to Joshua.

Ruiz is not really fast handed for even heavyweight standards. He is actually of comparable hand speed to Marciano and much slower in any other movement.

Yeah, 260 pounds...with sagging tits and smallish undefined arms. He has a large gut and fat rolls on his back. The numbers look impressive but when you actually see the guy....I would wager Maricano probably has bigger forearms and biceps, likely even bigger calves.

Don Cockell who gets called fat on the regular, actually looks like a solid built 205 pounder in contrast.

Ruiz won the fight with durability, aggression, and superior punch timing. It's as simple as that.

Hahaha you brain blocked idiots are dumb enough to make a random fighter in history for either n = 1 McCall, or Rahman (Lewis), or Klitschko (Brewster, Sanders) a clear favourite.
At the same time in history, when Sonny looses to a kid, or Tyson looses to a four-losses nobody, or Foreman getting an asswhopping against 35y old Ron Lyle, the vicious gossing starts in fine hysteria.
But when a 6'2", 33 - 1, 29y old fellow leaves AJ standing in the corner, the little unbeaten midget gets another hurrah to go with the big boys. Classic

You just have to like this universe of inductive stupidity, where simply every benighted theory got a proper moron to support a case via random happening in history.

Imagine Joe Louis losing to 6'1 260 lbs fat man with slow feet and decent hand speed but without great KO punch. He would be laughed off here and people would say that Butterbean would destroy him.

This is "modern" boxing though, so everything has sense. Someone like Galento can't be dangerous, all era simply sucked. Today though? Even overweight small fighters have special abilities that make them great.

If its a fighter from the past, the same exact card used to vindicate a modern boxer will be used against them.

    Galento fat? Bum!
    Ruiz fat? Strong!

I was at the fight. I can assure you that Ruiz is of decent size and much bigger than Marciano by any metric. It’s not only handspeed with him either. He has very quick feet and would close in extremely quickly on Joshua at times. He’s what David Tua wishes he were. Ruiz is legitimately athletic and has very good stamina.
