I believe AJ will feign an injury to get out of rematch vs Ruiz

I think him and his team will watch the fight back again and realise Ruiz has his number and will end his career in the rematch. His style is AJ's kyptonite. I watched the fight back. He did recover after the 3rd round but Ruiz did the exact same thing to him again in the 7th. AJ loses 75% of time vs Ruiz.

Tyson never rematched Douglas. Lewis never got McCall again and Wlad never revisited Corrie Sanders.

Gotta keep the brand reputation up. We'll see what Haymon thinks of that.

There's things Joshua can do in a rematch to improve his success.

He has to use his height more, avoid exchanging early and employ his jab.

3rd round Joshua floored ruiz heavily then did exactly what ruiz wanted by abandoning his defence and going Gung ho

Had he took half a step back after he floored ruiz and measured him for a right hand he would have won the fight.

He made a very poor and unnecessary tactical decision and at heavyweight you cannot do that.

Saying he has no chance at all of beating ruiz is asinine as he was potentially a few seconds and a smarter decision away from doing it on the weekend.

Haymon could lean on the IBF to order a mandatory defense which would give Ruiz a get-out clause , not that he'd want one , but Haymun might not want the rematch when he could potentially make Wilder vs Ruiz for the belts or a belt.
Ive read the IBF might order the mandatory anyway now that Joshua is no longer the champ. There was no talk at all about Joshua having to face Pulev if he beat Ruiz.

Which is truly a testament to how great Lewis was. I was never a fan of his but it takes a special fighter with a very strong mental aptitude to get back in the ring with a fighter who knocked you out cold and attempt to avenge that loss.
