If he defeats Joshua again, that is ~

And is the only person to beat him in the top 5?

Not long. Haymon would be smart to match him up quickly in a "mega" fight with Wilder, because even a typical "Wilder special" type of weak title defense really has a great chance to beat Ruiz. Hes lost to Parker (revisionist history notwithstanding), nearly lost to shot Liakovich and was losing to Tor Hamer until Tors heart quit. Any of the top 10 have at least a 50/50 chance against him and lower level opponents would have a good chance too.

As long as he doesn‘t have to fight against Wilder, Fury, Usyk, Ortiz and maybe Whyte.

If his next opponent is half decent, he has a big chance of losing. AJ vs Ruiz was just a freak show, must have been a handful of people in the boxing community who predicted that outcome, and I doubt most of them were serious. I think AJ knocks him out in the rematch.

    Depends on 2 things, imo.

    - If becoming a millionaire and an overnight semi celebrity will make him complacent. If he doesnt stay focused, he will lose to someone he shouldnt lose to.

    - However long it is until he fights Fury.

well Joshua landed plenty of solid punches on Ruiz in this fight and he didn't get the KO, real neck benders but Ruiz was still in there.

I think a Ruiz vs Wilder fight is more likely to happen than a rematch with Joshua because they both are with Haymon. No matter who of them would win would have all the belts and would get the lionshare of the purse if they then fight Joshua and/or Fury later on. If Ruiz immediately gives the rematch to Joshua and Joshua wins Haymon will have his pants down at his ankles and have to settle for (at best) a 50/50 split when Wilder fights Joshua.

Yeah, I'm sure Haymon wants them to match up immediately. But if there is a rematch clause, not much they can do about it unless AJ passes on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ruiz beat Wilder as the top 3 Heavyweights are the most overrated Heavyweights on History
    Joshua
    Wilder
    Fury
In the future we will look back and say
The worst HW division in years !

It's interesting how Tor, Dimitrenko, and Joshua all quit against him. He must be one lucky man.

It is a rematch clause. The rematch will happen. Eddie and AJ has already said it.
