Name-calling isn't going to embellish your case. And you're the one who offered to do a "deep dive" on this subject.

It looks to me like you've hit your head on the bottom at the shallow end of the pool after taking a flying leap off the top platform.

Sonny Liston had a 17 year pro career & went 50 and 4 with 39 kayos. And when he finally did reach the pinnacle of the sport, he was universally recognized as the one true h/w champion of the world. That's a height Vitali & Joshua never reached.

Of his 4 losses, one was by SD at the beginning of his career & another was at the end of his career.

His other two defeats were by a couple of youngsters called Cassius Clay & Muhammad Ali.

Sonny Liston > Vitali & Joshua combined.

Where did people rank Lewis after his reign was ended by Oliver McCall in 1994?

So, you won't post your top 25? Got it.

Also, get real, calling me a name caller with your series of posts? Hypocrisy much?

Liston lost to the best fighter of his era, Ali. He didn't really have an era of his own. The era between Ali and Marciano was a tweener era that Patterson held the belt for most of the time, but was clearly not as good as either Ali or Liston (and he was prime or close enough to it when he faced both). Liston beat Patterson soundly, lost badly to Ali, never faced the third best fighter of that timeframe in Johanson. He did beat about ten other top tennish hws. But never as champ, except for Patterson.

Vitali was arguably the best HW of an era extending about ten years. Only had two loses, unlike Liston 4. Both loses left alot of doubt as to who whether the victor was actually better than him, unlike Liston. Vitali had almost as many wins over top ten opponents. As many wins over the next tier of opponents. Was probably the classic example of the true SHW, international era of HW boxing. Greatest rounds won percentage in HW history. 8 more consecutive title defenses than Liston. Yeah, he deserves to be ranked higher, or at least has a good argument for it. And forum polls bear that out fairly well.

But that's all secondary. You say you don't rate Vitali as an ATG. List the 20 hws you'd rank above him.

Exactly mate, I don’t think Joshua falls apart after this but the one thing we learned here is that Joshua has absolutely no business fighting usyk or fury. And that Ruiz has the fastest hands in the division

I don't know if AJ falls apart. He very well may; time will tell. This massive loss is a time that is crucial for him and his psyche. The next 2-3 years will be very telling.

Either he comes back like Lewis or Wlad -- or he devolves to journeyman status like David Price did. I don't think there's any middle ground here.

Could happen. But I think the most likely scenario is that he beats Ruiz in the rematch and muddles through until he has to face the highest tier of the division. That's basically the middle ground of those two scenarios.

Lmao there has to be middle ground he can’t just be Lewis or price lol, and he shouldn’t be compared to price there was no fall from grace for pricey. I just hope he doesn’t get frozen out after all he carried them all on his back and the division, without him there wouldn’t have been all these ridiculous contracts. I don’t think they will because he is still the big name the big brand but wow that was some fall from grace. I would argue that if he comes back it trumps fury’s comeback as there’s the added public humiliation factor that fury didn’t experience

Not much point in doing that yet until his career is over like I already said

It all depends on how he bounces back from this. There is more to boxing than keeping the 0 and staying undefeated. His attitude and the way he carries himself outside the ring already puts him higher than most previous heavyweights. If he comes back and wipes the division clean then certainty, in my opinion would he be up with the top 10 GOAT. He is still young and has already established himself as a solid ambassador to the sport.

Imagine being proud of being a "two time champion" because you had to win your belts back for a 2nd time after getting beaten embarrassingly by a little fatman

Fury is what a real 2x champion looks like
