Fury is just a bad style match up for Ruiz. He's too long and moves too well. I think Wilder gets him out too, but that could also be a rough fight, it really depends on how hard Ruiz hits. I think Ruiz is a credible puncher but I don't think he hits harder than Ortiz.
ruiz is adequate, and thats as high as the bar is set today. people keep talking about how above the chaff their particular favorite is, and theyre all mediocre.
I couldn’t agree more. When they announced Ruiz as the replacement I’m on record saying that he’s better then A LOT of other names that were being mentioned. He can actually box.
The power of the paunch prevailed. AJ did not turn up, he most definitely was off form, but on the night Ruiz wrested the crown from AJs head emphatically, so Ruiz deserves all the plaudits and respect.
AJ is a fighter who tries to use his size and length to keep people at bay and throws one two's until he lands something big. Tonight he seemed surprised that a fight broke out. Did he ever really recover from being dropped early?
He's a 260lb walking blob (albeit one who has crazy fast hands and can fight) who just destroyed the three-belt unified king and #1 ranked HW in the world who is 240lbs + of solid muscle and is built like a brick ****house. There were a billion casuals all over the world with their jaws on the floor last night thinking they'd just witnessed the impossible. He should have the respect of everyone.
I do not imagine that he or his team believed that Ruiz could drop him early in bout so contingency plans possibly not worked on in training and AJs mindset was not there either. I just think a fit physically and or mentally in tune AJ did not turn up at MSG, wheras Ruiz brought his A game. Perhaps AJ is a fighter who needs more regular fights, as he last defended title in September, all if, buts and maybes, but what is a definite is that last night AJ was the grass and Ruiz was the lawn mower. For all AJs supposed deficits he is a powerful puncher and for Ruiz to get off the deck, bite down on his gumshield and make it a war and win then i salute the guy, the power of the 'paunch' prevailed.
surer he can , simply lose the lawsuit or drop a belt or whatever, it wont matter once he signs Ortiz Wilder, the stripped titles would be meaningless
More than Hearn can even contemplate. The dream has gone. Dave Allen and Whyte are now Hearns "A side".
Wilder gets the same beating and he gets it from whyte, usyk i think struggles against wilder, fury beats them all apart from whyte, my eyes are finally open to the division. This era could be exceptional not because of the talent but because of the diversity in styles/weights/body shape/height and they all match up awkwardly at some point, it’s like every fighter has a kryptonite match up in my opinion.... There are so many different clashes... Who is who’s kryptonite?
