How much of a threat is Rivas to Dillan Whyte ? I just heard about Rivas. I had no idea who he was or much about his resume . I am going to be looking at some clips of him from his amature days and his professional fights . Please let me know your thoughts about Rivas and how much of a threat he presents to whyte

Rivas is style-wise, not altogether too different from Ruiz. He doesn’t have the stamina to Throw a lot of punches, but what he does throw is fast, hard, and in combinations. He’s also at his best when counterpuching. Whyte hasn’t shown the defensive capabilities Jennings displayed against Rivas, and I have no doubt that Rivas has the power to hurt him badly if he connects clean. Whyte could easily lose this, and he certainly will if he tries to load up on punches or trade and doesn’t maintain a disciplined guard at all times.

Big. I put it 55 to 45 in favor of Whyte.

Whyte beats him and then Rivas is called a "hype job" and "was never any good in the first place".

It depends what Rivas still has left. In the alternate universe where he stays active in his prime and his eye never gets injured, he might have long been reigning with multiple belts at this point.

If he's even 70% of himself, BIG threat for Whyte..

If the Kaboom from the 12th in the Jennings fight shows up in round 1, nighty night Dillian. Personally I think Rivas has been playing it safe since he came back from the eye issues, which basically temporarily retired him. Not a lack of power, but fear of an injury. The way Whyte fights it won't allow him to play it safe, this one isn't going to last long.

Rivas is going to struggle here.

He's lucky to get by Jennings and really that's the only relevant win in recent memory for him

If Whyte is a true top guy he will win at least 8 rounds inside 12 or K.O him at some point .

I rank Whyte high ,if not for guys like hulking Joyce and Hrgovic coming on the scene he has a clear top 5,but against Rivas whos not in my top 10 I would give Whyte a 80% chance here. Rivas can punch so he's got that but whyte is a scrapper and can punch himself will make Rivas look REALLY small in there.
