That scrambled him; would he have won the bout? Whether it be via late knockout or decision?

Let's not forget, he almost ended the fight in the third round ~

there is no IF's in boxing. his defense is porous, he was hurt with the exact same shot by Dillian Whyte... but managed to recover, and hold on, and get his equillibrium balance back. I think it was the second knockdown that really scrambled him...

Ruiz fought much bertter v AJ than Whyte did and he took AJ`s punches better, look at Ruiz`s gloves he had a tight high guard, Whyte was far easier to hit v AJ and slower.

IF my aunt had a set of Nuggets and rodney, she´d be my Uncle...……..

one Thing is for sure however: Joshua would not have lost to ruiz, had he fought jarrell miller……...

Ruiz would still have won, AJ was badly exposed, everyone knew it was coming. Just a shock it wasn't Fury or Wilder who exposed the bum.

Let’s let Andy Ruiz enjoy his moment with no excuses. If it was an off night, a fluke or a lucky punch etc then let’s see Joshua prove that in the rematch. For now, Andy is the better man and deserves all the credit for what he’s done.

He got beaten up! Pillar to post.

It was his heart then when his heart gave up his stamina went.

The 4th knockdown was identical victor ortizs last knockdown against maidana. Ortiz just fell down and wanted no more of the beating. Like aj.

Ruiz won almost every exchange and completely overwhelmed Joshua, he looked the superior fighter.

    Ruiz wasn't hurt bad.

And no, I think that fight on that particular night was only going one way. Ruiz landed that shot plenty of times and AJ didn't have the defence to do anything about it. Just stood there with his Froch jab not moving his head

What a lame thread. This is boxing, you will get hit in the face eventually and you are expected to take those punches and keep on going. Ruiz handspeed and counterpunching skills were top dog, he was able to get 5-6 punches in compared to AJ's one punch, it was like man vs boy in there. He made the over glorified champion quit.

What about all the other knockdowns he was caught with? The second one was the most significant to me. Backing up, and getting stuck in the corner, while the blob just beat him down into the ropes. I think people don't realize how strong Ruiz is. He was hard to move back, Joshua found it difficult to stand his ground, and counter. Joshua's whole attributes have been to bully his opponent, and keep them off with the 1 , 2 and short hook.

He got hit with a rabbit punch after the first KD that made the situation worse, I think. (Not blaming Ruiz, it wasn't a dirty shot.)

But the point is that he got outboxed, not only outpunched. The first two rounds were close, but Ruiz was getting into his range much more easily than I think most of us had anticipated.

It wasnt just the left hook, it was joshua standing flat footed right in front of the guy loading up for power and being caught at the same time he threw, exact same as Lewis`s loss to mccall. Double impact. Major style and tactics flaw by Joshua.
