A result completely snowed over by the obvious, but what do you guys think about Kelly drawing over 10 with "knockoff" Ray Robinson? (Fair result imo) People here already predicted it to be a tough fight for him at this stage of his career... So, too much too soon, or a good learning experience for the Sunderland prospect?
For the hype he gets even with his lack of power should be boxing to a comfortably ud seems very arrogant comes across unlikable imo.tbh Robinson didn't look great a come forward relentless type but not alot power like a providnikov type but far less power ,if he steps in with big hitters he could be in serious trouble. All about opionons
It's not a case of too much too soon, this is the kind of fight he should be taking. It's that he fights like an idiot, his antics work against lower level guys and make him look good but it doesn't fly with the step up in class.
Eh Day's brown paper bag saved him on Sat as he lost that fight. A human body waiting to hit the canvas is the future.
Didn't really answer any questions other than he need to freshen up his approach. For the style he has I find him quite boring to watch, you need alpt of power to make it interesting and he just doesn't have that. He is a bad KO waiting to happen.
I’m not a fan and he will lose soon. I find him extremely boring and annoying to watch to be honest. If you are going to fight in that style, you have to have real power in your punches and he doesn’t. I also have to admit, that I wanted Robinson to spark him out when he started doing that ridiculous showboating in the corner. Maybe I’m being overly harsh as he is only a nipper, but thats reality I’m afraid.
It's not a bad night for him if he learns from it, considering he was lucky to keep his 0. The problem with Josh/Booth is they're making no adjustments. I can't understand what exactly they're trying to do. Same old flashy crap with zero substance. Wake me up when he hurts or dominates an opponent....
He said as much as he would had gotten the decision in the UK, for his cleaner punching... seems like he would settle for hometown decisions.
I watched this on DAZN USA (rather than be a PPV Mug). Interesting commentary pre-fight concerning Kelly as they talked him up massively and discussed about him in terms of him being a Hamed or Mayweather style fighter and entertainer 3-4 rounds into the fight they were really of a different opinion suggesting he had a lot of work to do and 'hadn't got going at all'.
I am going off him big time, he's a total flash harry with no power and just isn't that good. I don't care for the Adam booth style apart from when he had David haye who had the power to make that style exciting.
I still think Kelly is super talented, but I'm having more and more doubt that he'll focus enough on the basics to get to the top level.
Agreed, it's been obvious the flashy stuff alone isn't going to take him that far since the fight with Kris George.
