To let you in on a little secret, so does Haymon.

Not when the fight is a VOLUNTARY defence. Hearn calls the shots.

So does this mean the Fury rematch won't happen then?

This all may be true but if the contract stated a rematch in the UK then I cant really see how that dont happen.

Obviously Andy is gonna make a hell of a lot more money though

I'd assume so, imo priority for Haymon is to keep the belts.

No no no, Haymon is definitely going to allow Eddie to call the shots here, have a fight in the UK with MR judges and ref and immediately give up all the aces he now holds.

I mean it's completely logical. Andy and Haymon are of course more than happy to give up the potential to earn tens of millions and give the belts back the MR so they can guard them at all costs for the next 5 years. Makes complete sense. This type of strategy is how Haymon became so rich and influential of course, literally giving away belts and millions.

Intellectual Property of the fight... what the ****... Sky, DAZN and Matchroom sell the rights of the fights to overseas broadcasters when a fight is signed. There is really very little commercial worth in footage of a sporting event like a boxing match after it has taken place because it's all over the net, on YouTube, on Twitter etc and the demand to watch it is very low. It's also irrelevant.

All we know is that Ruiz has a rematch clause but rematch clauses are overridden by mandatory obligations. That's why Fury was stripped of the IBF after he beat Klitschko.

No one has any information right now about the actual terms and conditions of the rematch clause.

That last part is very true, so why are people assuming Haymon will be calling the shots? Nobody has seen the contract and nobody knows anything yet.

Im just giving examples of things that are in contracts that people don't consider.

Chat to Eubank Senior and them lot and ask who owns the intellectual property of his fights, it's matchroom. Any time his fights get played the revenue (no matter how big or small) goes to Matchroom and not the fighter.

The broadcasters only own the rights of the fights for a certain time. It then goes to the Intellectual property owner.

Its quite similar to the record industry and major labels owning artists 'masters' and 'publishing' and making money off that for eternity. The majority of artists don't even own their music.

Im going on a tangent buts its quite an interesting subject.

Because Haymon is far more powerful and influential than Hearn. Eddie won't tell you that though of course.

It's only a thing just now cuz some jackass was saying Hearn owns everything regarding the rematch. We stated no one knows **** and the fact that if anything Haymon wouldn't give up anything if he had something to say about it. Again, no one knows jack and the Haymon was a counter to the original ridiculous statement.

That's cos Eubank Sr is skint and flogged the rights to his fights to MR. No brainer there. A bit like when Big Fights Inc headed by Bill Cayton and Jim Jacobs who basically bankrolled an early Tyson. I see where you're coming from but we're talking a clique of promoters and managers over the pond who have done everything MR have and more.

Totally irrelevant. The rematch terms will have been set out in the contract Ruiz signed. Haymon would do the same for Wilder. It's not rocket science.

Unless Haymon wants to take it to court, which I very much doubt.
