Louis had a grapefruit for a left jaw....Tyson was making an effort to put his mouthpiece back in to fight on.....Lewis was basically k.o.'ed……..and then you have Joshua, hvywt champion of the world, just kinda standing there contemplating if this was where he wanted to be.
Not so bad as to dismiss him, but I'm still going to say definitively worse than all three. Rahman and McCall were lucky punches that landed square and would have had most heavyweights in serious trouble, Douglas was an underrated world class fighter who fought a superb fight that night against a (probably) severely undertrained Tyson, and Louis was fairly green and taken out by a more experienced, undeniably world class fighter who shrewdly spotted a specific flaw and successfully employed a specific strategy to capitalize on it.
Yeah the AJ loss is worse in terms of optics to the Louis and Tyson losses. Only Lewis who got ko’d by a single punch can be compared to as bad just matter of opinion of what you feel is worse a champ laid out by a single blow or one looking like he wanted out of the fight standing in a corner like what am I doing here.
"Doughnut destroyer" Ruiz isn't such a bad loss when you consider "AJ" isn't nearly as good as Tyson, Louis, Lennox just nice he was snuffed out by a humble fellow now we are all reminded that Fury and Wilder are our "Heavyweight kings" and we may see unification on the horizon.
I'll answer that with another question. Do you think Andy Ruiz would be good enough for the mentioned fighters as a sparring partner let alone championship challenger? The answer is of course no.
Its a lot worse imo than all of em .Lewis s probably the most similar compared to the guy who KO'd him .But at least Louis and Tyson kept plugging away trying to fight back . AJ looked bad in there ,embarrassing !
A bad day at office, that's all. I'm not the biggest AJ fan but he can bounce back from this if he's in the right mindset. I worry about his apparent lack of stamina more than heart.
It all depends on what they do next, don't it? If Ruiz gives a good account of himself for the next few years against other top fighters this loss won't look anywhere near as bad for AJ as it does now. And if AJ wins the rematch and beats Fury and/or Wilder after that this will be seen as nothing more than a bad day at the office.
An average fighter getting beat by another average fighter end of. No shock in my eyes, Joshua not that great Ruiz just slightly behind him but got the win, and people paid lots of money to watch it. To compare these two to proven greats of the past is laughable, that is the biggest most shocking and upsetting thing of all time!!
Joshua's is the worst. He looked like a body builder, who learned how to throw a couple of punches and not a boxer. Joshua showed shades of David Price.
It's only a shock if were brainwashed to genuinely believe that Joshua was the greatest thing since Muhamed Ali and Mike Tyson
Not as bad considering Joshua despite having three titles was still a relatively green and almost untested fighter. I think fighting outside of the UK has opened his eyes to many of his weaknesses. Hopefully this loss will be motivation for him to step up his game.
