What is important is that there a rematch clause which AJ and Hearn have 30 days to exercise. I may be wrong but it may well be the rematch clause states where the rematch is to be held and if its the UK then great. I suspect the best economic offer will be the UK anyway but obviously you cannot rule out Vegas. Ruiz might like it in Mexico but won't happen. There is a reason the biggest Mexican boxers have their most lucrative bouts in the USA.

I just don’t see Eddie being stupid enough to not have covered all bases, maybe he is - time will tell. Dillian Whyte said one of his reasons for turning down the fight were he felt the rematch clause had poor terms.

My gut feel is that people are overreacting with Haymon’s influence on this. Ruiz has come out of nowhere to beat AJ. He wanted to use Ortiz and Kownacki as part of his plans for wilder, He let Ruiz go ahead to save Hearn’s card and get him a decent opponent. We’ll see in time but that’s my gut feeling, Ruiz deserves better but that’s how rematches work. It would be the same if dillian Whyte went over there and beat wilder in a voluntary defence.

One thing you have to give Uncle Al Haymon is that he is very much pro fighter and will allow Ruiz to take the rematch as the money will be great irrespective of the percentage Ruiz gets because I am sure they have protected Joshua's percentage in rematch clause.

Haymon will be thinking his man can do Joshua again, earn more money than the fight first and come out an even bigger star. People are underestimating how many people will wanna see this rematch.

Silly to speculate on the terms of a contract unless you have read it closely, or at least are very familiar with industry or Matchroom standard.

Here’s the interesting thing - presuming there is a rematch clause: this will be AJ’s last fight with DAZN under the current deal from what I’ve read.

And I saw somewhere where the guy funding DAZN said the rematch should be in the USA. Which makes sense as AJ isn’t obligated to the platform beyond the next fight and isn’t nearly as attractive to the US market as would be a Mexican heavyweight champ.

And Eddie answers to DAZN. Bottom line, AJ is a short-term proposition and these guys are playing the long game.

We will see how it plays out.

Bu bu buu it's definitely going to be in the UK, in front 80,000 fans and a first round KO for AJ and much coke will be sniffed and lagers drunk and everyone lives happily ever after, this horrible nightmare for MRFC will end and can we all go back to normal please?

Exactly. People forgot that Rahman had one of the shortest title reigns because of the immediate rematch. It was stateside but that didn't matter to Lewis because he fought manny times is the U.S. (Grant, Tua, Briggs, etc).

Plus, Rahman had Don King who is 10x the promoter that Al is.

This fight is in the U.K. with a 240 lb. weight limit and Andy can only use one hand.

Andy probably have an easier time with the weight limit than the Robot.
