Given the nature of this loss I don’t like his chances one bit in the rematch. If he pulls it off he deserves a lot of credit- it would mean overcoming a lot of mental baggage and overhauling and improving his entire game pretty significantly.

I don't understand why people don't want AJ to take the rematch.

Thinking he will lose isn't a good enough reason.

If he can't beat Ruiz then he shouldn't be a boxer. Unless he's moving onto gatekeeper/journeymen level.

If he boxes smart behind the jab and right cross. He should be able to win an uneventful rematch.

The rematch is good for business but not good for a fighter recovering from exposure like that. For ex. Pac/JMM 4. It took a year to get back in the ring for Pac. He wasn't rushed back till he was ready. They are rushing AJ when he needs time imo to re-tool.

This is a classic case of styles. AJ cannot do anything about Ruiz hand speed and that's the only thing i will focus on. You think that Ruiz won't be carrying the confidence from the first fight knowing full well he can beat him

Pacman was knocked out cold. It was a brutal ko. I don't see any how that's the same situation.

5-6 months is long enough for AJ after Saturday.

There's not much to reply to since you don't see much importance in the way AJ was beaten. While being knocked out cold is different than AJ's loss, imo the effect is just as strong.

You Brits live in la la land.............zero boxing knowledge, zero.

Ruiz was not out boxing AJ, he out fought him and beat him from pillar to post, he simply walked him down, the flash knock down was just a hick up, Mayweather out boxed Pac.......Ruiz out slugged /out brawled/ outfought AJ..........the Bodybuilder looked like a total amateur in their with zero confidence to turn the ship....he did not want to be there, he had no answer for Ruiz.so he just gave in and collapsed....for the 100000000000 times he quit when the going got tough.

Jab? LOL, he aint got no jab, its a pitty patty slap at best.

AJ took a shell lacking to his inner mind, those Ruiz demons are following him day and night.........

It`s not the perfect scenario for Joshua, but he has no other choice. If he wait the titles will be gone. Andy Ruiz can very much lose if he decide to fight someone else. And let`s be real if Joshua doesn`t want straight up rematch that he have clause for it, Ruiz will did 1 voluntary defence and then Haymon will make Ruiz vs Wilder unification fight. Wilder will probably win and AJ will have to fight for glory not for title, cause no way Wilder will face Joshua if he keep all the titles, he will even mil his titles more.
So Joshua have just 1 choice if he wants the title and that is to fight Ruiz.
They should make the fight in December, so Joshua have more time to prepare.
He need to work on his movement, his jab, 1-2 punches and how to punch and move more, as well as how to clinch properly when the smaller man dive into him. He also need to improve his defence a bit.
If Joshua did the right thing he will win the rematch. This match is everything for Joshua. And then he needs to work on his game and pick an easy 2-3 opponents to regain his confidence, but remember what happen and never take anything from granted.

Same result in the rematch, Andy has his number the same way Thompson had Price's number, one last big payday before his career nosedives into obscurity.

Massive pressure on Joshua and if it's in UK even more so. If he wins all is good again, if he loses he is done in terms of top level.

While i think with a better game plan and execution Joshua is more than capable of winning the rematch (e.g with a massive reach advantage it might be an idea to use your jab ?) this huge pressure could lead to him folding badly.

    It's a big gamble.

Joshua played into Ruiz hands by letting him get close and unloading combinations. That's Ruiz game. With Joshua's reach he should be able to stand on the outside all night.

    Has no other option.

He has to believe in himself or what's the point.

I hope he does it, he's a nice guy but perhaps too much Mr nice guy. He's needs to get grimey now, no more smiling and laughing it off. He has to hurt from this and let it drive him. I want to see him snarling and showing some emotion. Dare I say it but he needs a bit more deontay wilder about him.

    He's too much if I win I win if I lose I lose. **** that **** that's a losers mentality.
