Why all the excuses? AJ just isn’t what everyone suggested he was.

I dont think that AJ was overrated. He was simply "over popular" if that makes any sense.
For example, I believe that Charles Martin got like 5 million for his fight against AJ. Which is absolutely absurd given that Martin literally lucked into the title with the freak injury his opponent suffered. And AJ at the time had fought who? It was his 16th pro fight and he was given a title shot and made crazy money. He was the perfect star for the UK. Many other boxers accomplished far more in the ring than AJ yet never got close to his earnings.

 

Out of interest where are all these excuses thread on the forum?? All I see are gloating threads tbh...

Not sure why everyone needs to just rehash the same stuff in new threads over and over again but this forum is notorious for it..

 

Adding to that:

AJ has had a full time career for at least 5-6 years. In the last 4 years he has had all year round and all the money to get the best of everything. On the other hand Ruiz is the guy that told his mum we don't have to struggle anymore. I bet Ruiz only had a few full camps in his entire career without working a job. AJ is overrated. Tremendous power no doubt but skill wise I don't think he has it nor do I think he can adjust to beating Ruiz.

 

I just hope this clears up some of the nonsense about Ali and the boys not being able to beat these so-called "Super" heavyweights

 

AJ needs to distance himself from Drake and back Trump. That way Ruiz Jr. can speak out against Trump and fall victim to the Trump curse. Even @CST80 who hates Joshua but loves Ruiz Jr. and Trump would see the ominous signs if the above started to form before the rematch.

Yeah it's like there is no middle ground in Boxing. In my opinion it was no fluke but I think Ruiz caught Joshua slipping and was good enough to take full advantage.

The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive of each other.
