Crolla earnt the shot and took it , Was he good enough thats another matter , facts are though a profesional athlete had a chance to get well paid and challenge for a world title , nothing wrong with that ,, However Brits being led to the slaughter well , what comes round goes round , theres been enough Argies , and Latvian bin men been brought over to the UK for cannon fodder , just so happens the elite world class use the English , fairs fair

Family first closely followed by business, does Eddie give a toss about fighters health no ,not if it gets in the way of making money ..Eddie will get a fighter baldly hurt or worst killed the man eats, breathes ,and sleeps money ..

If a fighter is hurt in a fight that he never should have been in - the trainer and the fighters team need blame before the promoter in my eyes.

Hearn got absolutely slaughtered for Kell Brook stepping up two to be smashed by GGG then down 2 to be smashed by Spence. I can't recall Dom Ingle really getting much flack for that at all, the trainer knows the fighter better than what the promoter does. He also cannot make anyone fight, the fighters are grown men and not children - if they fight and get hurt then that is on them and their trainer imo.

I agree somewhat in what you are saying, but fighters are fighters and won't back down, even against all odds, the second they do then they are done. If Brook had been fighting the top guys at 147 would he have faced GGG? I highly doubt it. Hearns inability to get those fights, because he wanted to make Brook a PPV star on the cheap over here, led him to that and also he saw that money slipping away after the Eubank fiasco.

I agree that fighters do not know when to say no but also from Hearn's perspective, he is trying to get the fights for Brook and is struggling because he isn't a big draw. Brook says just tell me what options I have. GGG gets suggested, Ingle and Kell sit down and agree they want to take the fight - I just can't understand where the blame lies with hearn.

Also there were MWs at that time that didn't want no part of GGG, I know Brook isn't the smartest cookie but surely he must have know that was a very dangerous fight. He has obviously looked at the money and thought f**t it. If a fighter is taking a dangerous fight because the money is too good to turn down then that is them favouring their wallet over their health which promoters cannot be knocked for. I do completely understand the point made though.

As a Promoter he shouldn't be putting his fighter in that situation,he just saw the pounds signs that were slipping away and a PPV date he desperately had to fill. Im not saying he is the only 1 to blame but Hearn has to take an equal if not larger share of that blame imo.

Ingle clearly wasnt happy and got him out of there teh earliest he could. Money talks for everybody unfortunately.

Its a shame Eddies American crusade didnt happen soon enough for Brook as he could have been in some cracking fights over there.

Yeah I suppose its just down to how you see it but i would think Ingle has bigger sway over Brook than Hearn does.

Yeah he just missed the boat on both Matchroom going to the US and the weight being stacked with quality fighters. If he was in his prime now, there is probably about 6 or 7 cracking fights he could have.

The division was pretty stacked when he was around, 147 seems to have been stacked for a while. Problem was they wanted to be based in the UK whilst offering fighters the same or even less to travel. Brook should have done what Khan did and based himself over there.

All ifs and buts now unfortunately.I was a big Brook fan but his career hasn't shown his true ability.

Yeah you are right actually, having thought about it. The weight was pretty much the same apart from Pacman and Crawford.

Same as me, natural ability I think he is was of our best for a good few years. Doing what he done to Porter is no easy task. Yeah it was going to be a bit difficult to drag one of the other top 5 over to Sheffield when they had bigger offers in New York etc.
