Joshua just cant out man Ruiz Ruiz has the better chin and he is faster at the punch so he will always get there before Joshua When it comes to the deep waters Joshua cant come out on top Ruiz is to tough for Him AJ needs to run and avoid getting hit and win decision and the fight has to be in uk for a better chance of him winning Ruiz fast counter punching style is ALL wrong for AJ AJ should of just forgot about the belts him losing again to Ruiz would be so bad for his career
Ruiz must absolutely insist on the rematch being in the USA or Mexico. I just know that Eddie Hearn, Matchroom and Sky Boxing will collectively do anything and everything to unsettle and disrupt Ruiz and his team. When Usyk fought Bellew, his hotel fire alarm went off at 4AM. Even in New York, Delfine Persoon after getting her blood testing done was told later she needs to do it again and was given a random address that took hours to get to. Then, she was removed from her hotel that she booked with some dodgy excuse/reason. I don't think Ruiz realises what he is up against here and hope he has a team that can better prepare him for the shenanigans that are incoming.
If Joshua knew how to fight on the outside utilizing his jab, this fight wouldn't be close. If he chooses to get into a firefight with Ruiz again, the outcome will likely be the same as the first fight. I think Joshua had a false sense of security by dropping Ruiz in the first fight which made him go for the kill, in turn, he got caught and was never able to fully recover.
Nah. He can win doing a good Wlad impression. Im favoring Ruiz in the rematch, but people are forgetting that the reason AJ got clipped in the first place was he got stupid rushing in after trying to finish Ruiz off. If he stays disciplined in the rematch, clinches in close, fouces on his jab... he can win.
Doubt Joshua can pull off a Wlad here in the rematch as his inside game & clinch abilities are simply pathetic and ****. Wlad always strong in the clinch. Joshua isn't.
I was pretty impressed by Ruiz in that fight but i'm not going to kid myself that moments before he landed that shot in the 3rd he was flat on his back and Joshua was looking to close the show before he got caught himself. After that shot landed Joshua was visibly on shaky legs for a while. Probably still going into the 5th round to be honest. Ruiz performed well from the 3rd round onwards (not a lot going on in the 1st 2 rounds) and was coming out on top in the exchanges but I'm not 100% convinced the rematch plays out the same way, we can't really tell at this point how effected Joshua was by the 1st knockdown and how effective Ruiz would be in walking down a Joshua that wasn't clearly hurt. Jury's out for me until the rematch. Should make for interesting viewing.
Ppl are discrediting Ruiz, everything he did in the fight happened after he got knocked out and he still ate a powerful right hand and left hook from AJ. He disproved the notion that one punch can change a fight
He needs to fight with his range ONLY. JAB AND CROSS, no hooks! NO more trading ****ing left hooks with the shorter man with faster hands. Pure arrogance and stupidity from AJ. He thought he would just blast him out of there.
Not sure about disproving it. In fact the opposite, that shot he got Joshua with for the first knockdown changed the course of the fight 100%. Obviously he had the skills and ring IQ to take advantage of it and take out Joshua in a calm methodical manner, which was hugely impressive. But before that shot landed it was looking like the beginning of the end for Ruiz.
He doesn't need to run. A good solid jab would be all that was necessary. He has a huge reach advantage. Andy shouldn't even be able to get up so close all the time. AJ was literally stepping right in and engaging the smaller man in close range. It was the dumbest tactic i ever saw but it did work initially when he dropped Ruiz. He looked to just seriously underestimate Ruiz and thought he could do what he liked. How can Andy win if AJ never allows him inside? Lennox Lewis wouldn't let someone like Ruiz get anything off. Neither would've wlad. AJ played the wrong game and paid for it.
So fighting in a style youre not suited for and losing against someone you can beat, and dersiling your career even further, just to please a bunch of spastic fans, is having 'balls'? Imo, its having brains.
