People need to realise that these guys train for weeks all trying to beat that jab...eventually someone will come up with a plan to beat it. Tbf joshuas jab isnt too bad....it wasnt his downfall on saturday night and hasnt been up to this point. He lost mainly because he jamp in to finish ruiz too early. He thought the job was done. To ruiz,s credit he came back fighting and got everything he deserved. Joshuas gameplan wasnt the problem. Even his attributes wasnt the problem. He just got caught goinb in for the kill. It happens its heavyweight boxing. And from there couldnt recover and ruiz capitalised on it. Sometimes fans confuse me. People wanted the klitchko era to end. They wanted a more exciting heavyweight. They,ve got two in joshua and wilder. And now they want klitchko back. Klitchko was a spoiler ...no one wanted to see him fight if truth be told. Do people really want joshua to turn into klitchko. He probsbly can win fights off the jab if they tweaked his gameplan a bit. But he,d soon have to give up his must see tag thats made him what he is. I m not sure people do really want him turning into wlad. Its not a difficult formula to turn him into wlad. His jab could be a lot better if he spoiled like wlad did. But who wants to see it. His fights have been great to watch up to this point. Hes beat good fighters with his tactics. Was on a great run. Then got caught out going in to early fof the kill. Its s great learning experience for him. People need to get over a loss...without it turning into a sack his trainer. Or the fightrrs been exposed debate. Guys get hurt up ag heavyweight. They fight badlh when hurt. Thats ppretty mucb sll thsf happened to joshua.
Floyd snr has not been relevant in boxing for years. Last I heard of him was he got beaten up by Charlie Zelenoff. He can barely speak. All well and good saying do this do that. AJ hasn't got an engine. There is only so much you can do with him. He has fought more cautiously with McCracken, he has been managed well.
Do you guys even watch boxing ? AJ has no jab.....he does not step into it, has no snap and paws it around, its also slow.......AJ has never ever fought tall, he is a hooker/uppercut medium to close range fighter and always will be.....he traded with a hooker and the hooker made him quit. Poor chin, poor stamina, poor mental make up, poor Ring IQ......those faults were always there but it took a fresh young fighter who came to win to expose it.........AJ went life and death with old shot cannon fodder why is it a surprise that he folded like a lawn chair when some body made him fight 3 minutes a round ? There is a reason that the Wilder fight was never made.......there still would be a search team out looking for AJ's head in the cheap seats.
This fight was lost tactically and in training camp. From what I have seen of McCracken he does not Do well in training defence.
And lets be honest, that was a ko punch he dropped Ruiz with and he got up right as rain..He has to put a beat down on Ruiz to win and hes just not capable of mixing it up with him
This is the crux of the matter and the main reason why he's getting retired in the rematch. Still people will desperately search out excuses and continue to come up 'what went wrong'' theories in an attempt to maintain the idea that Joshua was a victim of circumstance, instead of coming to terms with the fact that the well oiled synthetic robot, simply got exposed and malfunctioned. This after both Joshua and his owner have stated in no uncertain terms, that they had a great camp and there was nothing wrong with preparation. I watched the fight back yesterday and Joshua fought like his normal self, the only difference was the opponent didn't cower and fold when hit whilst never giving Joshua the chance to compose himself or get any space to set up his punches. People are saying all needs to do in the rematch is keep it long and keep it at the end of the jab. Sorry to tell you ladies and gentlement, but that isn't going to work for a limited 1 dimensional robot, simply because 1) Joshua is too thick and undisciplined to implement such a strategy 2) He does not have the legs/stamina to keep moving around due to his overly muscular frame. In the fight he tried to keep at long at intervals but couldn't sustain it, which is one of the reasons he kept going inside the pocket in an attempt to finish Ruiz off with his combinations which have previously been enough to KO bums.
Mc Craken should have taken those boxing gloves off and fought Ruiz himself. The bodybuilder was useless in there.
The truth is he got clipped going in for the kill after he hurt ruiz. Overestimated how hurt ruiz was and paid for it. He never recovered from it then took a beating as a result of that. . The only thing that did really get exposed was his recovery is really bad....but i think we already knew that. All this talk of being exposed etc...mckrackens rubbish....joshuas rubbish is nonsense. Wilder and fury both could have easily had losses themselves. Doesnt mean they,ve been exposed...more judt shows how dangerous it can be up at heavyweight. The big worry is joshuas recovery. Easily the worst of the three and could be a potential career finisher at the top level. These guys wont always give you thd chance to get the second wind.
