Correction - Al Haymon wants MSG and will get it.

Hearn has to spin it to make it seem as if it was their choice, otherwise he looks like a mug with all the ''it will be in the uk'' talk.

Negotiations a lot easier as it is in the US as in the UK.
Vegas or Cali are probably a big nono, so NY is a good option.

As argued, at length, Al/Ruiz calls the shots here. AJ needs his belts back, and Al wasnt born yesterday and isnt going to let his pants be pulled down by sending Ruiz to the UK to sell his belts off.

This REMATCH, if it happens takes place in the USA, sorry AJ fan boys.

Also, AJ gets bounced around the ring like a basketball at Baskeball practice in the rematch too

Yeah baby. I'm not one of those that feels Joshua needs to take ruiz back to the UK to fight. I'm a full believer that Joshua has enough to his game to be beating ruiz and all was not rightast week. So that means if all was well he should beat ruiz where ever they fight. If ruiz rolls over him again then there will be no debating the 1st result and that will be that.

Well that's not your call its the call of the contract that ruiz signed. If ruiz can haggle then i would recommend he haggles. If he has given over rights to demands in the contract he will do as the contract states.

Sadly I think the rematch will be in the UK, it shouldn't be in my opinion. He knows he'll get stick for having it in the UK, so for a bit of damage limitation he will say that Joshua wanted it in the USA.

If the venue wasn't written into the contract , then Hearn will struggle to bring the fight to the UK. It's a silly oversight on his part if home venue wasn't locked into the rematch clause.

Everyone who feels Joshua was somehow unusually effected by nerves or anxiety or whatever shouldn't accept anything other than USA, and preferably MSG, NYC.
    Joshua has something to prove.

Having watched the fight a few times, I think Ruiz should win the rematch.

I agree. If AJ wants to prove something, he should do it in MSG. That would be sweet revenge.. but Ruiz style is still all wrong for AJ and it´s a 50/50 fight, as a championship fight should be.

Would be interesting to know what the rematch clause actually stipulates.

Best guess is it names the price and promotion (Matchroom) and time frame (had to activate clause within 30 days, which has been done, has to take place within however many days/months) and nothing else — which means Eddie determines where it takes place.

The key here is it’s been reported that AJ has one fight left on his Dazn contract, that fight now being the rematch.

Eddie is much more beholden to Dazn than to AJ, really. That’s the cash cow and he will do what John Skipper (the Dazn owner) says ... and Skipper has already set the tone by saying in a brief interview right after the fight that it should take place in the U.S.

    Dazn’s best scenario is:

    1) It takes place in the U.S., especially since it will be during college football season on a Saturday and if it’s in the UK it will get zero interest/subscriptions going head to head with all the day games on UK time.

    2) Ruiz wins ... AJ is leaving the fold, Dazn can work with PBC to offer huge money to Ruiz to have a Mexican-American heavyweight champ on its platform, and have a piece of the unification with Wilder/Fury winner.

There’s no upside for Dazn to have AJ win a rematch in the UK. And Eddie knows where his bread is buttered.

Its already stipulated in contract beforehand where it will be decided BY team AJ, and how much Ruiz is getting . He may be be able to finagle a bit more money but team Ruiz cannot dictate terms .

Its not up to team Ruiz or anything Haymon on deciding what happens in the rematch, you imbecile. lol

Its why Ruiz CANT refuse Joshua a rematch if he activates it before 30 days and what is written and agreed to in the contract doesn't change that's why its called a contract that Joshua will dictate with the REAL rematch clause Ruiz agreed to . :imwithstupid:

Hope he takes the MSG route.

It would be a bigger fight in the U.K ( MUCH better promotion to ) but a win at MSG is a bigger statement and will ground peoples feet back to reality where its easily lost in boxing. lol
