It makes sense when Joshua's status at No.1 was never clear in the first place and Ruiz was regarded as way below that group. And that Fury's draw with number 2 was a robbery, The Ring has disregarded official decisions it deems robberies before.
I don't think its outrageous to say fury is number 1. I do think the ring ratings are inconsistent and their criteria seems to change as and when it suits them. It amuses me that some people are suddenly big believers in the ring ratings when a week ago they thought they were Garbage. It was the same wise men of boxing who produced both sets of ratings.
9-3 Fury is just as far off as 7-5 Wilder? You’re way off and I strongly disagree as does about everyone else who watched the fight. But you are entitled to your opinion. Fury “won” that fight and almost everyone who isn’t biased or a fanboy of wilder knows it. I just call it as I see it. I watched the fight 4 times I can’t get to 4 rounds for wilder never mind 5 which is what he needs for a draw.
Seems logical. Fury is the Lineal Champ, after all, and hasn't lost and looked great in his win...I mean "draw" over Wilder. The real question is whether or not Ruiz Jr. deserves to be ahead of Wilder or not, based upon his upset win over Joshua and his close loss to Parker a few years ago. Personally, I think the list is fair, given that Ruiz has not faced as many top contenders as Wilder....and that's saying something.
Fury is unbeaten, has beaten Wlad and most thought he beat Wilder too. The only doubt in my mind to ranking him no.1 before for myself were his layoffs from actually boxing. I thought the no.1 spot was undecided before Joshua lost to Ruiz because he hadn't fought Fury or Wilder. I think personally Fury probably has the best claim to #1 now, but it's still not really clear until the top rated men meet.
