If Joshua lands a big punch and then a few rounds later stops Ruiz will you describe the blow as a "lucky concussion punch?"

I think Joshua will get draw odds or better in the rematch. In other words if he only wins five or six rounds he will probably get the nod in the scorecards. If the fight goes to decision Ruiz will need to clearly win at least 8 rounds.

AJ lost his soul that night.

He will never be the same again.

Ruiz beats him easier and earlier in the rematch too. Also too all future AJ opponents, you can see what you need to do now. Have the cajones to step inside and unload combinations on AJ, and once you have him hurt he stays hurt.

If Joshua doesn’t get hit and hurt again he can win, he had his moments of success. But what is the chance he won’t get hit and hurt again? Added to the fact Ruiz won’t let him off the hook once he is hurt? I wouldn’t bet on it. It rilles on either Ruiz being brought off of him being out of shape and under prepared himself. Ruiz is a tank and can take the power, so this magic KO is unlikely.

    Joshua wins.

He starts off the same but after the first knockdown he doesn’t rush in for the kill, he keeps it methodical and at length. Takes Ruiz out late.

AJ can win if he's sharp and boxes smarter. A lot depends on how both approach the return.

If Joshua's at home for the rematch, it's a big advantage and he also has added motivation in revenge. He should use his height and reach to his advantage for one.

It's still a dangerous fight for him though if Ruiz is 100%. Ruiz won a punchup last time and showed a lot of heart and some ability so he will be confident in himself.

My best guess. Mental and physical impairment. Definitely he displayed signs of concussion. He looked sleepy/ unalert and his eyes were glazed even during the ring walk before he even took a punch.

Let's just hope for his sake it's not permanent brain damage.

I beleive he was confused why his legs were gone so easily and he couldn't take the shots. They weren't very solid shots either. His brain was already scrambled.

Unfortunately once you are knocked out repeatedly or hurt its only downhill from there. The brain can only take so much.
Less and less force is required the brain just goes in to shut down mode. I believe it's a safety mechanism.hence why peoples Chins deteriorate when they have many wars

    60/40 Joshua

Caveat that if Joshua wins it'll be hard and if Ruiz wins it'll be early KO

Depends how Joshua recovers mentally from the beatdown (and beatdown it was).

He has the tools to beat Ruiz, just by keeping behind his jab, picking his shots, and not spending too long admiring his work (preferably no time at all). Ruiz isn't an unsolvable enigma; he's just a tough, skilled fighter who can cause anyone problems if they play into his game.

Bellew/Haye & Thompson/Price scenario, Ruiz will always win.

If Ruiz is careless rushing in trying to finish AJ with wild haymakers and gets caught one himself causing a concussion, perhaps.

Joshua will still be a pretty heavy fav for the rematch so a few here will be hoping to make a fair bit of money. I predict Joshua will be something around 1/3.

AJ will be more cautius going into trades, will try to fight outside. I give him 60% chance to win.

I doubt Joshua wins the rematch.
Ruiz already knows what Joshua will do, what he can do, he knows exactly what Joshua's adjustments will be, and he's got his own strategy in place for that.
Stylistically, Ruiz has the goods to beat Joshua again, whatever Joshua brings.
Joshua can beat Ruiz but it's a hell of a task. Joshua needs to either get Ruiz out of there very very quickly OR he needs to dominate a long range fight. Both possibilities seem to rest on him being a vastly improved fighter in the rematch ....... or by the odd chance that Ruiz becomes a less able fighter in the meantime.
