:) Yes cam I believe Katie is tied up for a while according to Brian Peters. So Delfine might have to wait for her rematch. And Chantelle will be pushed further back too. Bummer all round really. Cheers.

Chantelle is more interested in fighting the winner of last Saturdays fight not the person holding the belts. Katie’s team will not risk fighting Persoon again

Katie knows that many (misguided) people had her losing to Persoon. Katie is a very honourable person, and won't be happy to let this lie.she may be tied into a certain path for a few fights, but Katie's very much in charge of her own career at least as far as is possible for a boxer to be these days. I'm sure she will instruct her team to offer Persoon a rematch asap. Hopefully Katie will erase any doubt as to who is better next time with a much clearer victory. Of the two, who do you think can come in with a new , better approach, in the rematch. There's only one answer.

The rematch against this tough Belgian Woman will be equally difficult as she knows she can walk through Taylor's punches to land her own.

Will be a great fight again to watch.

Katie can correct her mistakes from the first fight though. Or at least she has the potential to. Delfine can only do it one way. For one thing Katie completely failed to target the body for example. Is Persoon vulnerable there? She might be. Often you get a fighter with a head like a brick who suddenly collapses from one tap in the ribs. (Thinking of Ryan Burnett's last opponent for example). Of the two girls Katie is the one with the ability to come in with a different approach. One which negates a lot of Persoons success. (And makes for a duller fight for the fans!).
Katie could make the rematch a lot easier on herself just by improving in 2 areas alone...cardio fitness and defence. Just saying.

Taylor will always be the favourite and expected to improve but you assume there is no improvment to be found in the opponent mate - she may be capable of coming in even fitter, stronger and really stick it on Taylor from the first bell.

Hope this fight is made soon as a famous Eh day quote applies 'this is the fight we all want to see'

Jurgen I doubt Persoon can improve much. She's a one trick pony. Don't get me wrong ...that one trick is mighty impressive! She's a female Troy Dorsey. Check him out if you haven't already and you'll immediately see what I mean.
Hopefully the huge demand and Katie's genuine decency speeds up the rematch.

The fight reminded me of the recent Dogboe vs Navarrate fight where one fighter wanted to box but the opponent had zero respect for his power, walked through his shots and dragged him down to having a scrap.

Persoon should have been deducted points for constant use of the head and forearms, the ref didn’t do her job properly imo. I was of the opinion that Persoon was robbed on the night but I was caught up in the emotion of it...which is a credit to both fighters and for creating a debate on here.

I think a proper ref in the rematch will allow Taylor to display her skills & she’ll get the win. What I will add though, is that she’s lucky the rounds weren’t 3 minutes long in that fight because she was ready to go.

I’m glad Chantelle left Cyclone / McGuigan. Things seemed to have gone really stale towards the end and I think they’re only focussed on Josh Taylor now. She seems on the up with Jamie Moore & MTK, so hopefully that continues.

Taylor looked gassed from the end of round 2 and looked to be going a few times in the fight. Lucky it was not 12 rounds as well mate.

Can see another very difficult fight ahead in the rematch as Persoon knows she can find the target and Taylor looked very vulnerable for the first time in her career.

They only focusing on Josh as Lee McGregor has left as well.Towards the end no fights at all lined up,no news of fights in the future nothing. Don’t think they will have Josh much longer after the wbss finals

Katie did tire very early. Too early. No matter how good the opponent she should not have been that gassed so early in a fight, any fight. That's why I suspect she had something wrong with her ....sick, injured, or overtraining .. burnout..... Maybe just age...I don't know. I could understand her getting tired in the later rounds, but not so early in a fight if she was fully right. I just can't help feeling something was missing though. A fully fit Katie, making the right adjustments should beat Persoon in a rematch. Not easily of course, it will be hard but I think she can do it.
