Yeah, he was a nurses assistant: https://www.tmz.com/2017/12/05/zab-judah-boxing-champ-nurse-assistant-dementia-patients/ Hardly a dream job, frankly speaking...
So older boxers...who are dimensions braver than average peasant...should just walk around and see nobodies having access to more resources than them? Older boxers who still want to box should be given fights on a regular basis with decent paydays, every now and then they get to expose a hyped prospect, the accumulated losses help build the drama for an upset...Being out of the ring, puts them at odds with the law
I certainly would not argue with the need to spend money responsibly. However plenty of other sports offer some form of retirement plans so such a thing for boxers should not be out of the question (however boxing being fractured by various sanctioning bodies would complicate matters). A retirement system for ex champs (and maybe recognized top ten contenders) who have consistently paid sanctioning fees (which could reasonably be raised in amount to fund this new project) would not be unreadable.
He's got a bleeding brain and this was surely his last time in the ring, but it doesn't look like he's in critical condition
