And UK doesn’t have boxing on Dazn. All the UK fans pump up what a great value it is because they get those fights for free and know Dazn isn’t going to keep paying for them if it fails in the U.S.

One report said 5,000 people watched AJ-Ruiz live on Dazn. Think about that.

 

Wilder should have accepted the $100 million offer. I doubt whether Showtime can pay him that kind of money

 

I don’t believe the 5k number at all unless you have a reliable source. They’re on the heels of the Canelo—Jacobs subscriptions. There were double digit millions of illegal streams so 5k on Dazn would be absurd.

Regardless, they’re running at either a loss or at zero this year in hopes of getting a reasonable base of subscribers. I think it’s very possible that it will work since they aren’t exactly budgeting for Game of Thrones at the same time.

AJ is the butt of a joke now, smacked around by a fat boy. And Ruiz is a Snickers spokesman (good for him). One hundred percent of play the first fight got in American media was “LOL he got beat up by the Pillsbury Doughboy.” Not a good jumping off point to sell dazn subs.
