I think he just lacks that dog, that spite, that the truly great fighters have. Whyte shouldn't have beaten him, but he outgutted and outbullied him in the ring and that was the difference at the end of the night. I can see Parker getting upset by similar fighters who are more willing to do what it takes to win while Parker's passively playing by the rules and trying to be a sportsman. He's too nice for his own good.

Parker lost the Ruiz fight anyone who is honest or counts punches knows this.

    Parker has improved since .

Parker still hasn't won a meaningful fight since Takam another fight he lost, how long ago was that ?

Parkers showed he's a top level fighter against Whyte even in a loss it was the best weve seen Parker but he fell short again ,but credit goes to how good Whyte actually is .and no easy fight for anyone.

So no actual view HERE has changed on him ,hes a fringe top 10 guy ( hes not in my top ten head to head now ) but he really needs a solid win to get back in the immediate mix.

If Ruiz wasn't over him before he is now ,he actually defeated Joshua to., that puts him over Parker easily if they fight again bc any one with a logical thought process knows Parker was miles from defeating Aj and if they disagree they failed math in high school or are related to Parker bc he won like TWO rounds in that fight.....:stop:

There are mods here that scored Parker vs AJ for Parker also and were saying that Parker is better than AJ all along. So what now ? I like CTS80 and all but Parker lost vs AJ.

Parker vs Takam was stepping stone for Parker and he won like 8-4 but Takam was always overrated on this board.

So, let me get this straight...

    In your eyes -
    • Parker lost to Ruiz - Even though all independent scorers had that close fight in Parkers favour 115-113. It was a close fight. I would have been fine with a draw as swing rounds happen. But saying Ruiz was robbed is laughable. Parker won that fight, but if you had to lean towards Ruiz in the closer rounds, it could have been a draw. Also, for what it's worth, check the RBR on here, hardly anyone had it in Ruiz favour. Worth noting, Oceanic users are far and few on these boards.
    • Parker lost to Takam - No, he really didn't. I'm unsure how you score fights given that you think Parker lost to Takam and he only won 2 rounds against AJ.
    • The fight vs Whyte was one of Parkers worst! You can't take someones worst performance to boost your agenda of another fighter. Whyte is a limited heavyweight who Parker should have beat. In his defence he had a lot of adversity to go through in that fight, but it was far from his best performance.
    • Parker vs AJ - Parker won 2 rounds?! Are you high? That was a damn close fight, which was Parkers best performance. He just didn't throw enough punches. He showed Ruiz how you beat AJ. AJ clearly won that fight, but Parker proved that AJ is vulnerable going backwards.

In one sentence you say "Parkers showed he's a top level fighter against Whyte", and then change your tune to "He's a fringe guys (he's not in my top ten)"

I have been one of Parkers biggest critics over the last 5 years, as I have known of him since we boxed as amateurs. But to say that he lost to Takam is ridiculous in itself.

Parker has enough to win if he can find the "mongrel"

Ruiz was "robbed" - Ruiz was better on the inside, and troubled Parker, but JP got him with some beauties in the mid rounds which slowed Andy down enough that he could nick some rounds with his jab. Joshua couldn't slow Ruiz down..
"Parker threw more punches than Ruiz, 560-416 in a busy 36 minutes of action in the ring.
Most importantly, he landed more punches 119-107"

Takam won - Really? Takam got hit a few times, slowed down, and JP stole some rounds with his jab. That's boxing folks.

AJ - When the ref told JP to "stop coming in" as he called his 1000th break, I was thinking "crook"

Whyte - agree with K_B - poor performance after a head-clash, but nearly nicked it at the end. Hardly a total disaster.

Still young. Still has time to improve.

Fury - Loses. I think Tyson beats everybody if his mind allows it.
Wilder - The ultimate test of Parkers chin. Parkers fast hands might bother him. Wilder favourite.
AJ - 50/50 IF the ref lets him fight inside. I think Parker's chin is as good as Ruiz's
Ruiz - 50/50 Parker the only one with similar handspeed to Ruiz
    Whyte - Parker gets revenge
Old Ortiz - Parker too quick and accumulates an easy points win
Old Povetkin - Probably not a fight I would pick for Parker. Povetkin is old though, so 50/50

Deserves to get more fights against the top guys in the division.

The Ruiz fight was razor close but definitely no robbery. I scored it 115-113 Parker but it could have gone either way. Parker v Takam wasn't even close. Had Parker winning 116-112. I gave the last round to Takam but Parker could easily have snatched it in some people's eyes.

I don’t get the infatuation with Parker. Don’t get me wrong he’s a steady performer but will always be around the number 5 mark.

I like Parker - really decent guy...however to suggest his fight with AJ was so close it could have been a draw is silly. Just because that was the first time AJ didn't KO his opponent, doesn't mean it was that close. AJ won it very clearly, Parker just didn't do enough and was too cautious.

I'm honest. I only count punches that land clean and I had Parker winning before the score cards came out. I'm a Parker fan and it was very close but I honestly feel Parker won just the same as I think Parker clearly lost to Joshua.
