Inoue lets you know how the fight will go from the opening bell, so any version (Prime Donaire or Current Donaire) will react by trading power for power, problem is that Donaire starts a bit later. However, Donaire should be able to catch Inoue flush with a clean power shot if he comes fully warmed up mentally and physically & starts loading powershots from the opening bell, if he waits (he will start leaking strength from the body punches & only get weaker as the fight goes into the 2nd round)...Skills wouldn't help vs a Body Punching Bully, no complex skills needed to catch Inoue...as Inoue is not exactly a defensive wizard, his defense is destroying your body. Problem is how to cope with Inoue power & relentless pace he starts with to poison your body

Donaire chance to win this fight is to go all out in the first minute of Round 1, if he can't discourage or drop Inoue...he is on his way to catching another L, he should just train for a 1 round fight. He should plan for 0.5 rounds of Fireworks win or loss guarantees him a career high payday in the rematch

Inoue's defence is so underrated here. He's never been hit cleanly by anyone. His reflection is rediculousely quick anf superb.

When did Nonito "in his prime" ever show that there was a possibility that any fighter could knock him out? It took going up 5 divisions and a monster of a FW to finally show a dent in Nonito's physicality. Whether you think Inoue would win or not is a separate matter (he may very well), but to just emphatically state he'd stop prime Donaire (when Donaire himself was a physical specimen with an abundance of speed, countering skill, and power himself) is just foolish talk. Show respect please.

It is very difficult to land a clean punch, when you are facing a committed body punching maximalist...Inoue defense is his commitment to Body punching.

Tbf no one lasts long enough to land any meaningful shots anyway. Rodriguez landed 2 or 3 then its over.

This. Donaire isn’t a 118lb Fighter! What’s intriguing is that Nonito is bottling whatever stamina recuperation to make 118lbs as an advantage and make the best of it on fight night.

Nonito is BIG for 118lbs. If he’s hydrating as much as when he fought Walters and there’s 20% less power from that at 118lbs then Donaire’s hook and body work will be brutal for Inoue.

Team Inoue knows this. They will box around the ring and play smart defense. I am picking Donaire to win this fight. Donaire needs to come forward as he did to Magdaleno and Burnett. I wonder if Inoue will welcome the pain if Nonito can land.

Donaire didn’t waste time to attack the body on Burnett as the rounds progressed.

I have a hard time imagining Donaire seeing the final bell - prime or not.

He hasn’t fought anyone that can hurt him look at his record. No big punchers to mention and that Rodriquez fella never impresses against Maloney.

    True that.
Also let's not forget that Donaire NEVER lost at 118lbs - Never.

Prime Donaire would have a good chance, but I'd still favor Inoue.
Current Donaire has a puncher's chance.

I honestly picked Donaire to stop Burnett because Burnett struggled with a come forward SMALLER fighter from Kazakhstan, that former Champ from Hatton.

Everyone knows that Donaire can go into seek and destroy mode when trying to close the ring. IF Inoue welcomes rope a dope that’s when Donaire’s combos are devastating.
