I'm a Joshua fan and have been from the start and I've followed boxing for nearly 40 years. On Saturday June 1st, AJ got beat by the better man. It's as simple as that. I've not tried to make any excuses and neither has AJ or Hearn.

Come the rematch I'll again be rooting for AJ but, if I'm being honest, I see Ruiz as the favourite based on how easy he beat Joshua. I actually think that Joshua winning the rematch will benefit boxing more and makes for a great story but, I am genuinely concerned he'll lose again.

I did feel , watching the fight live that there was something 'different' about AJ but, not for one moment did I think it would announce his untimely demise.

Can he win the rematch and comeback strong, I hope so and so should every boxing fan as he has a lot to offer the sport still and I am still kean to see him in the mix at the top of the division as I feel that every top 10 heavyweight has similar weaknesses and frailties or holes in their game which adds to the uncertainty and subsequent excitement in competitive matches.

Because he's a big stiff dumb bodybuilder, who folds when the going gets tough. Seriously the only thing that was exposed in the fight, was his punching power. The blob Ruiz just walked through his shots and clobbered him senseless in that 7th round.

Something was off with AJ. We may never know what. Not taking anything away from Ruiz. Wish him all the best.

It’s Anthony Joshua and his teams responsibility to get in the ring and be at his best, IMO he wasn’t at his best for some reason that we’ll probably never get confirmation of.

None of that is Andy Ruiz problem, his job is to beat the guy opposite him and he did that in style

So congratulations Andy Ruiz, Unified Heavyweight Champion of the World and the first ever Mexican to hold that title.

    Ruiz took away Joshua's jab

and had obviously seen how unmoving AJ's head remained during flurries.

-Sitting duck. And hard to correct for the rematch.

I agree with most of your post, except the “...so should every boxing fan.” part. Due to his look and build, Ruiz is much more relatable to regular people. If this guy beats Joshua in a rematch and brings the title back to the states to defend it, he’ll be an absolute phenomenon. That would actually, IMO, be better for boxing everywhere except the U.K. Besides, should Joshua lose, it’s not like he dies or disappears. He can still mount his even bigger comeback from there.

Joshua never recovered from the left hook to the temple in round 3... he wiggled the jig and flopped to the canvas right after...
Easy target for second KD in RD 3

was in survival mode until RD 7 stoppage.

Teddy Atlas "Shot Behind the Ear" is pure garbage, I've went through that fight frame by frame!! Temple Shot from Left Hook in Round 3, Joshua never recovered...
