Eddie Hearns: Only AJ is allowed to duck mandatories to have a rematch, if Wilder does it I'll sue!

Um, Wilder was the one who constantly said that the AJ fight would happen in 2020. And Wilder was the one who said he had to deal with his controversial fights asap.

Btw, I am also certain that Hearn was waiting for DAZN to kick off before really focusing on Wilder. Which kicked him in the balls.
But Wilder himself is also to blame. He was offered a pretty impressive deal by DAZN, and he instantly turned it down. At least there weren't any talks of even negotiations between the two parties.

Wilder is a fighter not a promoter.

I don't see Bob Arum, or Oscar fanboys on here.

As for your mandatory argument. Whyte isn't a mandatory

    He's in an eliminator.

Secondly both Fury and Ortiz are superior to Whyte, who's best win is over a morbidly obese and heavily medicated Lucas Brown.

Thirdly had Wilder made Whyte a priority, pathological distractors would be accusing Wilder of avoiding Fury.

Let's not even get into the fact there were some accusing him of ducking Breazelle when he fought Fury, then when Wilder took care of Breazelle, all of a sudden he's a bum nobody.

And that's exactly what Whyte will become when he's put in the hospital in the 3rd round.

Some top class insight there, thanks for that.

Ortiz isn't superior to Whyte (ask Ring Magazine).

The Fury fight has nothing to do with it. I think you are missing my point, however the fights are made - mandated or voluntary or whatever the situation, people get over the moon when a Hearn fighter doesn't get a fight and would rather stay up to 4 in the morning to watch Brezeale get wiped out in round 1 when it could have been Whyte (whether that is in Wilders power or not) just to spite Hearn - I think it is pathetic personally.

Saying Browne is Whytes best win, when anyone in the world who has half a clue about boxing knows it isn't just to support your argument makes the conversation a bit pointless really.

Eddie Hearn is 100% correct here.

Whyte should have been mandatory a long time ago and if he beats Rivas..he should then fight Wilder.

Wilder doesn't fancy the Whyte fight for a reason.

Once again, if that's the case, what's the point in having rankings? Why be ranked no.1 if it means nothing? Why gradually step up your opponent if ultimately it leads to nowhere?

I tell you what, why don't we just let all the champions just have voluntaries and stick 2 fingers up to contenders and up and coming fighters. Oh yeah, that's right, it's ALL READY HAPPENING.

How on Earth is Brown Whytes best win?
    Surely that would be Parker

No in fact it is Parker

Well Barry Hearn also talked about it would be better to leave the AJ vs Wilder fight until 2020ish. Like I say, none of us know the real reason why that fight kept get putting back and who was driving it. Maybe the truth is: delaying that fight suited both sides... until Ruiz threw a spanner.

To be honest, because I still want to see a meaningful fight between the two, AJ winning the Ruiz rematch would be the best outcome and I suspect the urge to make the Wilder fight will be greater, now we have seen how vulnerable Joshua is. He can't take another loss before that gets slated, so I suspect negotiations will be easier in the future.

And if they are, then we'll have a better idea who the roadblock was all along.....

Honestly, I don't think another loss to Ruiz would hurt Joshua all that much. Definitely when it comes to a fight with Wilder. The Wilder fight has been on everyone's mind for too long now. All it takes for Joshua(if he looses again) is to score one or two impressive wins and we are all good to go.
People forget how easily one fight can change the perspective. Manny was supposed to be done after Marquez knocked him the **** out. 3 fights later everyone was back to saying that Floyd is ducking him.
Khan was supposedly past it after Diaz. Took him only two performances to be back in the mix.

Oh I agree, the fight can be made but it wouldn't be as big. If he beats Ruiz in the rematch the first fight can be seen as a blip and everything is back on track. If he loses again... Ruiz is the better fighter and whatever AJ does after that, the two loses to Ruiz would hang over him. So yeah, he could still fight Wilder and that fight would still be big, but not mahoosive... it would have lost it's real meaning. It might be the second fight between AJ and Wilder which would be the biggest fight because we would have a reference point and a defeat to avenge for one of them....

Second fight, lol.... ever the optimist.....

I mean, Breazeale fought a WBC final eliminator before Whyte, so Breazeale for his shot. Whyte was ordered to fight Ortiz as a final eliminator, but didn't. It's as simple as that really.

I don't rate fighters based on published rankings otherwise Tom Schwarz is a top 10

The reason why people are over the moon when Heard doesn't gets his way, is because he is a arrogant smarmy self entitled contradicting lying piece of cow dung.

I would also implore MR and Eddie Hearn fanboys to reconsider supporting a company which fondly reminisces of slave trading days.

As for Whyte's best win, which one is it? A shot chisora? what about Dave Allen?

Or are you going to harp on about the illegitimate win over Parker where he rough housed his way to victory, through illegal blows, headbutts and turn buckle wrestling? Assisted by a MR ref that actually picked whyte off the canvas?

Okay well I will just go off my opinion then, Whyte is a better fighter than Ortiz.

So you have just proved my point entirely - you would rather see Hearn fail than watch better fights. - that was all I was getting at here.

You are genuinely a fuc*ing idiot if you think they were looking at the slave trade fondly. He referred to a slave contract but that is an argument for another day.

It is boxing mate not netball, you do what you have to do to win. Was a few of his punches a bit too hard for you as well?

Well that's a casual view, which I expect

It was only a fortnight ago, that many were screaming that AJ would wipe the floor with the likes of Fury and Wilder.

Now whyte knocks up a few wins against d grade opponents and he's supposedly a threat. Such is the spell Hearn puts many under, leading them to talk utter and complete stupidity.

Now where did I say or suggest that I'd rather see Hearn fail than watch better fights? If anything, there are fury fans who were overjoyed he was fighting Schwarz instead of wilder, and many MR fanboys wanted to see Wilder fight Whyte, ahead of Joshua when AJ was undefeated and they first started negotiations.

So I don't know where you get this idea that those who support wilder, would rather see him fight lesser opponents.

Regardless, Whyte isn't even mandatory so I don't know why you're acting as if he should even be fighting Wilder next. He could well get beaten against Rivas and all the drivel you just spouted would be redundant

One would think they'd learn from the Joshua fanboys who were shooting their mouths how he was clearly the best in the division and a host of other twaddle, whilst those that knew their boxing, were kindly attempting to explain that he is not as good as the hype has made him out to be.

As for the the slave trade comments, he was clearly reminiscing fondly about the good old days. I covered at length(see article below just so there was no confusion as to the weight and expression of his words.

Obviously if you can't read between the lines, you will take Hearn's word(which is what he would say to cover himself), that there was nothing untoward in his comments.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I don’t see Hearn as some shining knight for making good fights — he is as much of an obstacle as anyone else, and in some cases moreso.

Eddie talks a lot and slings a lot of bull so it’s understandable that he has detractors.

Dillian Whyte deserves a shot. Wilder should fight him. I'm sure Deontay can squeeze in another title defense in December after he wipes out Ortiz in the return.
