I appreciate your candid and objective assessment.

Your post proves your thoughts hold value. Which is why I will now remove you from ignore.

Though I would argue with a couple of points which you have made. Yes others have quit as well as it being 90% of the time due to the fighter feels there is no way back and would prefer to avoid further embarrassment. The only mitigating factor which is justifiable for a fighter giving up, is if there is serious injury.

What makes this case a big deal, is that we have here is a unified champion, doing all he could to quit because he couldn't bully his opponent. As a champion, what Joshua did was unprecedented

It would be like prime GGG quiting against a fighter like Willie Monroe Jr. Or Canelo quitting against someone like Liam Smith. Can you imagine? Do you think they would be able to escape criticism, or do you think anyone would be interested in listening to stories about how they lost memory and were within good reason to quit because they felt there was no way back?

He didn't quit. He was tired, dazed and not fully with it...but said yes. When the referee called it off he clearly said "what?" and looked annoyed / upset.

Fury knew AJ was going to get knocked before the bell rang. Maybe AJ can do better in the rematch cos i doubt he could do any worse?

Fury claims his voice problem was caused by a blood clot that formed after being punched in the throat during sparring.
He and Atlas are both correct that AJ is a quitter though. Anything other then being determined to continue becomes a quit as they know the ref will have to stop the fight, they basically get told that they have to convince the ref in these situations.

The fact AJ was in there with a blobbed up LH, had at least a 5 inch height advantage, 10kg+ lean muscle advantage, and capitulated, is shameful. It's one thing the smaller man conceding defeat, but to have all the physical advantages and do this shows genuine mental weakness.

The whole 'AJ's fighting heart' narrative from the Wlad fight has been exposed as pure myth. I think it's official now he just got lucky that Wlad was too cautious and concerned about his own vulnerability to finish the job. Makes that fight even more annoying.

That was painful. He could have wrapped it up in 1 minute, just say he quit and it’s done.

Of course he quit. Look at Judahs reaction after Tszyu knocked him out. That is a proper reaction when you´re not conform with the refs decision and everything was on the line.
Quitshua can only beat on the elderly and damaged, but when the going gets tough, he is outta there on the quick quick.

The late great football coach Bear Bryant once said: The first time you quit it’s hard, the next time it’s a little easier, after that you don’t even think about it.

^^ Given the bad grammar I'm not sure what you are saying here. I assume that you mean Judah was animated and trying to argue he was ok despite the chicken legs. So What? Judah is an animated person anyway (also he had little idea where he was as he was still staggering, so needed to be even more animated to show he was ok - backfired btw), Joshua is a far more calm and relaxed individual, was not on chicken legs (but clearly tired and dazed) and tried to show to the referee he was calm and clear of mind when he said he could continue.

Fury always predicts Joshua is going to get knocked.

He also said Charles Martin would knockout Joshua.

Cleverly, they found a presenter with an even more gravely voice to compensate....

The long counts these guys (Joshua and Fury) are getting is really bothersome. You get a 10 count. Or a mandatory eight. That's it. If you're up, you're supposed to be ready to go. Right then.

In the Wilder-Fury and Joshua-Ruiz fights, the referee allowed Joshua and Fury, after they were up, to turn their backs, walk around, be asked numerous questions and 20 seconds or more elapsed between the time they hit the floor and the time the ref decided to either stop it or let it go on.

I don't know why the refs are letting them do this.

It's not supposed to be a delay that drags on until the referee is convinced the fighter can continue. It's called a 10-count because that is how long you are supposed to get.

Instead, we're getting overzealous referees who stop fights when guys haven't gone down and are ducking shots, or we get guys who are decked hard, and the refs spend 20 seconds or so following them around the ring asking them if they are SURE they're okay.

It drives me crazy. Count to 10. Do they look okay? Let it go. If they aren't. Stop it!!!

I don't think he predicted Joshua to loose , he only came to that conclusion after seeing him climb into the ring.

May not have been on chicken legs ,but his movement was stilted & as you say he was dazed . IMO knew if it carried on there was a very good chance he was going to be Obliterated in good fashion & wanted to save face...
