At what point is Sky going to start kicking off properly about them just funding DAZN indirectly?

Kal Yafai fighting next in the states. The list of UK fighters who have been used to make up DAZN cards is ridiculous now. Eddie's UK offerings since DAZN has been dreadful.

    It is getting so frustrating.

It's a valid point, I can only imagine that's sky are making good money too off the Brits fighting over there cos I can't think of any other reason sky would be putting up with this.

Surely their Saturday night fight night viewing figures must be dropping?

Unless they are getting money, it makes no sense their end.

i wouldnt think Sky aren't giving matchroom mucj these days, hence why they love a PPV.

I think contractual Sky cannot stop it. They will no doubt be unhappy and feeling let down. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious but Eddie Hearn should remember without Sky Matchroom would be a small company (think of all the Sky contracts they get for different sports).

Sky should open up the boxthing to any promoter to submit proposed cards and dates.

Matchroom have destroyed the Sky boxthing viewer experience with pony cards for 2 years now and pony PPV cards as well.

Agree, MR and Sky have clearly reached the end phase as far as boxing goes now the 2012 Olympics boxing boom has hit the other side of the bell curve.

They can’t as they have signed a deal for Matchroom to be exclusive in the UK they cannot put a non matchroom card on without Eddie allowing it. I remember seeing a video about how Eddie got the Fury vs Klitschko fight on Sky as he brokered the matchroom share of profit.

Matchroom are in a position of power only alternative is Frank Warren who does not have the same star power as the matchroom stable. As let’s face it even with weaker cards the matchroom UK cards have still been miles better than BT over three last 12 months bar Warrington vs Frampton and the upcoming couple of shows.

Eddie has to keep sky sweet by returning some big names hence he will allow the AJ vs Pulev fight in the UK if he wins the rematch and is bringing Loma to the UK too. Sky have nowhere to turn to in reality.

The only thing I could see potentially happening is DAZN launching in the UK when the deal with Sky is up in 2021 and then it would not surprise me to see Sky either pull out of boxing and Adam Smith etc take up a position in DAZN or Sky to do a deal with MTK who are making moves and have a massive roster they can call upon to build cards.

There’s been some great nights of boxing, pure hatred right there. It’s been poor this year as Eddie’s mind is on America but there’s been some very good boxing cards over the years.

Check the forum threads for the so called great nights of UK boxthing over the past 2 years - mainly pony month after month.

The vast majority of boxthing fans on this forum can't all be wrong

I think it’s the other way round with the funding. DAZN seem to be funding SKY are they’re just happy to sit back and take what they can on the cheap and then throw the odd PPV on to make some money.

The whole reason most of these fights are happening in the states is because these companies are putting up the money for them whilst Sky and BT sit back.

All the Matchroom fighters, Fury, Saunders (vs Lemieux), Yates going to fight away vs Kov (apparently), Warrington was angling for a fight stateside before he got forced in to the mandatory. And it will continue.

Question is as well how long until DAZN start losing patience with Hearn, I doubt they signed a deal with him to just bring his UK stable over to the states, Hearn is going to end up burning both ends at this rate.

There does seem to be a conflict between the two. Sky's UK shows are definitely suffering as a result. I couldn't give a **** about DAZN and neither will Sky. Something's gotta give.

Hearn has very good fighters on the DAZN platform and has potential superstars in young americans + Haney

in 2 or 3 years Hearn will be the main man in America and has a good stable slowly building up.

Not sure if I'm missing something here but I've seen several posters say that Adam Smith will be poached from Sky if DAZN decide to come to the UK? Why would they do this? Is he that good at his job?
