I think there’s something in arguments for and against fury being the best heavyweight boxer in the world right now. But I don’t think there’s any one can argue that he has one of the best jabs, his head movement is probably the best out there and he’s light on his feet and fights well on the back foot, dose that make him the best heavyweight boxer right now? I don’t know but it can easily appear that way as those are the things that the other top heavyweights are lacking, well certainly wilder and Joshua. So if like me you believe that to be true? Is that something that you think could influence your your opinion on fury? As in it’s not just what he has/does it is the things the others can’t or don’t do?
the division is weak, the belts were taken from a good fighter whos cadaver was passed around for a rating. a chubby, short for a hw fighter, just showed the level of talent currently operating at hw. he didnt get lucky, he outboxed the hw kingpin and rag dolled him around the ring for a couple rounds. there are no exceptional fighters at hw right now, none.
Delete your account. I've read two posts from you and conclude that Boxing isn't your sport. Before doing so, post us your card for Fury-Wilder, and explain how you came to the result that you did. Maybe it'll help us learn something about what the judges were seeing that night. Who is the number one heavyweight if it is not Tyson Fury? Furthering that, if he isn't second, who is?
Agree to a certain extent, about there being no exceptional fighters. but just don’t know who you are referring to ‘he didn’t get lucky’? ‘He out boxed the heavyweight kingpin’? Who is ‘he’ and who is ‘kingpin’ it’s probably just me missing it like but I had a long day at graft lol
Fury had good head movement in the Wilder fight but lacked the full package of punishing sloppiness with counter punches. This is why Wilder felt safe throwing sloppy haymakers because fury never made him pay for it
ruiz didnt get lucky, he outboxed aj, who had most of the belts, making him the kingpin. let me put it another way. fury beat klit, by doing as little fighting as he could get away with, and klit obliged him by doing as little fighting as HE could. a handful of punches separated them, meaning fury is just a hair above an ancient klit. klit then decides he wants to go out actually fighting. so he goes life and death with aj, meaning aj is just a hair better than an ancient klit. fury then goes life and death with wilder, meaning they are around the same level. meanwhile, ruiz runs parker neck and neck, same parker that went neck and neck with aj, meaning all three are around similar level. finally, ruiz gets dropped by aj and then beats him senseless, proving the level every fight has been hinting at for years. this is just a bunch of B fighters fighting over the scraps an A fighter dropped on his way out.

I don't care for Fury as a person but the man can box. He don't bring out the oohs and ahhhs but he holds his own and uses a skillset that fits his size.
I'm not a fan. I mean I watch his fights because he's a big player at HW, but his style is awful. It's like he's having a seizure, too herky jerky for me. He has some talent though. I can't gauge him properly because Wlad was old and Wilder, imo, although has some good athletic abilities, he's not a good boxer. He's actually bad. I'm not talking bad as in just a brawler, nah, great brawlers are good boxers, just very offensive minded. So schooling Wilder like he did is not unimpressive, but it is still Wilder.
Agreed. He has good movement, head movement, feints and footwork. Weakness are counter punching skill, punishment, speed, power. He makes opponents look dumb but for thorough outboxing, master class boxing clinics I feel requires actual punches being landed in a superior tactical way ala Barrerea-Hamed. His best fights show pretty negative stats; low punch output but Tyson more or less has punches landed while he has lower output. The best thing about him is that he can clearly show the audience who the more 'skilled' boxer is by fighting negatively while adding showmanship for great effect. IMO for Wilder to defeat him, he needs to have a more varied attack and mix it up to the body. What Wilder does know is that Tyson really cant punish him unless Wilder goes on a defensive breather, so WIlder needs to take advantage of that.

Fury is a mixed bag. He brings loads of confidence into the ring, is 6’9 has great endurance not good great, and moves well for such a big man. He has 0 power (probably why Wilder chose him), and while he knows how to evade blows he’s a little slow to counter (maybe fear to commit and be in harms way since he as no power anyway). He beat and old Wlad and I guess a prime Wilder and got rooked. He dominated Hammer and Chisora two B level guys and didn’t look great against Cunningham a good pro but a natural cruiser.
As far as I remember, Cooper floored him with a swinging left. The way he was knocked down proves he is a below-average boxer. Then he ducked Cooper, after defeating him by cheating.
