When Larry Holmes faced Mike Tyson he hit the canvas twice in round 4 and didn't quit. He went out on his shield. And Larry was damaged worse following 2 knockdowns at that point than Joshua was. AJ flat out gave up. He quit.

Fury is my favorite active HW but he needs to stfu with all that quitting sht. Joshua did not quit. He was tired, hurt, disoriented and demoralized.

Rigondeaux flat out gave up after taking a few shots. Nicholas walters straight out quit for no reasons. These guys should take all the criticism for quitting the way they did.

What happened to Joshua was totally different.

As were all other fighters who quit.

You merely explained his reasoning for giving up.

Someone could say Rigo didn't quit, because he was demoralized, getting his head boxed off and saw no way of winning the fight. Does that make any sense?

If anything it supports the idea that he quit.

when youre right, youre right. i dont think its something he should be ashamed of, but it shouldnt be ignored either.
if youve never seen a boxer, far more hurt, after sustaining a much worse beating, absolutely pleading with his eyes to the ref not to stop it, then you aint been watching boxing for too long. that kind of heart should be celebrated. the greatest stories and legends in boxing, involve such hearts.
unfortunately, aj did not display that type of heart... but few do. but then again, to quote general george patton "fatigue makes cowards of us all".

It’s pretty clear to me who the couch potatoes are here lol the ones who has never boxed before.

Joshua never fully recovered after the first knockdown via temple shot. His equilibrium was fked yet he still marched on for couple rounds. It took multiple knockdowns before the ref waived it off. How did he quit exactly?

Rigo and Walters were far from hurt. What they encountered wasnt anything close to what Joshua went through so there is no comparison.

    He quit.
He knew the next knockdown was the curtain call so spat out his guard making the ref call it off.
Better to argue his case whilst still standing after his second put down -in R7- than to have it there in black and white that he was KO'd via the 3 knockdown rule.
In fairness he acknowledged Ruiz jr as the better fighter on the night, and all credit to him for that, but he knew he was being schooled so gave the ref no option but to stop the contest.

    You make up stories

Joshua was fine in rounds 4,5 and 6 as ruiz backed off. if he was as you say ****ed, he would have been staggering around the ring and his legs would have gone.

Joshua quit because he gave up. He realised Ruiz could take his best shots and every time Joshua threw a power punch, it fired up Ruiz even further to unleash a barrage of his own which Joshua couldn't live with.

I don't know why you are obsessed with Rigo quitting. Khan is a more apt example similar to how Joshua quit. Since he was also getting outclassed and was a round away from being put into intensive care, and looked to his corner to quit.

You have to be mentally handicapped to argue that he didn't quit, because he was getting hurt.

That foolish argument in itself proves he did quit

title fights are usually dangerous. every non title fight the guy has was against someone who wasn't supposed to pose any danger.

one was forty years old and looked horrible his previous fight. the other you brits constantly say is a joke. every non title fight he has had was against someone hand picked to not have a chance.

I can forgive Khan because the guy has been knocked down and has taken a lot of punches in his career. Not everyone will have the same punch ressistance and fight for a battle in the twilight of their careers. Even Holyfield, Eric Morales have quit in the end of their careers. AJ's case is different because he doesn't have significant miles on the clock and he is suppossed to be in the prime of his career.

You forget to mention the fact he is also 6 inches taller than ruiz, with an 8 inch reach advantage was holding championship belts which legendary fighters of the past held over their shoulders and he quit.

One of the most shameless quit jobs in boxing history.

the same can be said of 90% of top heavyweights.
Joshua and Wilder never faced a serious threat in a non-title fight either.

Tyson fury DUCKED Klitschko and Wilder. If you duck once, you will duck again. If you duck twice, you will definitely do it again.
