If the height and weight of Rocky Marciano are the same as Muhammad Ali, who would win?

I'd say Ali outboxes him still, it'd just be much, much harder and it wouldn't be easy in the first place. I think he'd be able to take Marciano's power and grind out a decision.

And I think Marciano's size helps him here as he would be able to get more leverage when he leaped with his hooks, as well as fighting on the inside he'd have a bigger advantage.

Also why do we have to increase Marciano's size?

 

Ali. Because of the disparity in ,speed, reflexes,boxing ability,athleticism,and overall talent.

it's not a bad question ..but then you'd have to throw the style that made rocky who he was out the window .. if he's 6 ft 3 ..the idea of being a bob and weave type of fighter like he was at 5'10 is a .. it's kind of a novelty ..not to many guys could really fight in that bob and weave style like Dempsey / Marciano/ frazier / Tyson /tua .. that mold .. I mean bowe was excellent on the inside like that .. but he was a complete exception .. so it'd change rockys whole dynamic .. .now this doesn't mean he'd be more or less successful ..I just mean it'd be a totally different cat in there at 6'3

I'm being ironic here. People make these assumptions that stretching fighters out and adding 40lb to their weight means that they'll be exactly the same fighter but just bigger and better. That's not how it works. If you could blow Marciano up to 220lb with Ali's dimensions AND him still retaining all his characteristics, JFK, he'd not only beat Ali but he'd put him in the ICU. He'd be the GOAT. But again ... that's not how physics works.

 

Rocky was not quick ,adding 40 pounds to him would make him into a statue.He was not hard to hit, extra weight would not increase his ability to elude punches.You are right.
