if true or not, AJ should get shot of McCracken ..AJ hasn't progressed at all considering he trains like a demon wtf has he been learning, still looks green to me... Froch was an elusive fighter in the amateurs turned pro under McCracken and became a brawler with a leaky defence..

Good first paragraph - fought puddings up to the Klit fight with nothing in between.

Went from Eric Semolina straight to Wlad and rightfully expected to defend against the best contenders since.

Of course he has. It was just a matter of time to wait until the initial shock and awe died down to make it relatively public, which is a testament to the media power MR has. He was toast from the first knockdown, all the bravado about sticking with him was just PR.

Just like the PR we'll see the next few weeks about him "still being involved".

Then, in another month or two after a new trainer has been officially announced, we'll start getting drip fed the wisdom of AJ having a few tune-ups with his new skills before a rematch, aka the Great Rebuild. This will be another 2 years of AJ at Wembley knocking out cans.

AJ needs to go back to basics and just beat people up. He will never be the master of the art so he should just get rid of all the technology and revert back to the spit and sawdust gym and smash peoples heads in. If he’s gonna be finished then go out with a bang!

Ye but think he got caught in two minds and show US he’s a boxer then thought after the knock down the night was gonna be a breeze and went for the kill. Just don’t think he can box at distance that’s the problem as just not got the fast hands to do so he’s too predictable. He needs to tuck that chin in and just smash away I think. Fury would have jabbed JNR head off for 12 rounds but trust me if even Fury tried to go inside he would have ended up the same. Fury just a cleverer boxer than AJ that’s the difference.

From the picture AJ put on twitter the day before the fight, there are 22 ar$e-lickers who should go before McCracken.

I think McCracken is a decent trainer, I just think AJ lacks the ring IQ to carry out what Rob asks of him in the ring. In the Ruiz fight Joshua wasn’t taking instructions on board and had some kind of mental shutdown; I don’t think any trainer would have saved him that night

I thought his instructions were excellent on the night and he’s done a fantastic job with building Joshua into the fighter he is. However, I think now is the perfect time to change things. I think a new trainer would revitalise him, give him a fresh perspective and a clean slate.

I think he’s weirdly ‘in-between’ fighting identities these past few fights. The lad has shown prior to and during the Klitschko fight that he can really fight and be a devastating finisher....but since that war with Klitschko, he’s talked a lot in interviews about longevity and using boxing skills to avoid being drawn into a slug fest. I believe that fight (as enthralling as it was) took something away from him. He went to hell in that fight and he clearly never wanted to go back there after it.

I think we saw efforts to box rather than fight against Takam, Parker & Povetkin. We then saw him try to box against Ruiz but Ruiz imo is a better ‘boxer’. Unfortunately for Joshua when he tried to turn it into a fight it turned out Ruiz could also fight and take a shot.

I personally think he’s tried to reinvent himself since Klitschko, but I think the best thing to facilitate that is a new trainer.

I'm not sure I believe in this "identity crisis" of his style that you and others have mentioned, because .....

He really didn't face anyone worth talking about prior to Klitschko though.
Apart from Dillian Whyte ....... and whether Joshua was boxing or fighting there he didn't have as easy a fight as most predicted at the time.
He 'boxed' mostly in the early rounds against Klitschko and had to gut out a win over after Klitschko beat him .... and while it was a good fight, neither of them looked good.
Joshua is still a great finisher, as witnessed as Povetkin. That was probably his most impressive finishing to date.

We can't expect Joshua to look like he did against Kevin Johnson and Gary Cornish since he's been fighting genuinely good fighters.

I'm subscribing to the identity crisis point made by 20. He looks like he doesn't want to be a fighter after being bashed up, too risky and too painful. I think he's looked gunshy since Kiltchko... So he tries to be a boxer where clearly Tyson Fury complaint that AJ he's a 'big stiff weightlifter' comes to the fore. He sort of sits on the line between the two styles. Looks uncomfortable.
