Donald Curry was ready to get in the ring after that fight & embarass Leonard into fighting him. But after watching Leonards "purely for the paycheck" effort Don said he wouldnt embarass himself by doing so. Leonard's apparant response was " I got paid for tonight you didnt" sums him up exactly doesnt it
LOL Ruiz & his uncle Joe Cortez ruined Kirk Johnsons career. That broke Kirk's heart he was robbed of the WBA title
david haye, guy pretended to bring excitement to the division. His fight vs Valuev was more boring than any Wlad fight plus he **** the bed vs Haye and paraded around with a toe **** him
That's a very good shout. Haye was a monumental @£#! He was one of those guys who acted a like a tool before a fight and then tried to justify his **** poor behaviour afterwards by claiming to only be 'hyping the fight'. Here's the deal - if you can act that way, you're not hyping the fight, you're an *******. It was most enjoyable to see Wlad, who is the exact opposite of Haye in that respect, box Haye's socks off for all 12 rounds.
While I acknowledge his greatness, I always just thought of Julio Cesar Chavez as Don King's concubine.
Some fellow Brits I could never really take to, or haven't taken to yet.... Joe Calzaghe, Josh Warrington (more his annoying groupies, I guess), David Haye, Ryan Rhodes, Nathan Cleverly, Chris Eubank Jr., Paul Smith, Anthony Joshua, Ricky Hatton (see my point about Warrington), Kel Brook (and again...), Frankie Gavin. Guys like Bellew I've liked and disliked in equal measure depending on the time, and can't really put in a bracket one way or another. Internationally, I've never really been able to stomach Zab Judah or Paulie Malignaggi.
I really hated Marlon Starling he beat Lloyd Honeygan on the night of my 16 brithday . The thing is now I really rate him as a fighter one of my favourites. I don't like kaptn Hook all that fake German cr&p really steams my p1ss
Good picks. Egomaniac types who were not that good but think they are and their fans who ignorantly back them up are part of boxing I can do without. I tend not to like the foulers and bad guys outside of the ring, especially the assault type of guy's who prey upon women, much smaller men, and are cruel to animals.
Good pick, but why Ray Leonard? He fought the best and probably has the best collection of wins since the 1980's.
I simply couldn't stand Ray's cockiness..remember when Ray would land a KO blow and befor the man even hit the canvas he would get right up on him and shoot his hands in the air. For whatever reason I just couldn't stand it. That alon just turned me off from the man. That and I could tell there was too much fakeness in his image. Some things you can just tell and that was one of them. Since then although I'm still not crazy about the man personally i do believe in his short prime he was one of the best fighting machines God ever created.
