Oh come on bud. Lomachenko and Crawford are stunning, not Tyson Fury. Let’s keep it real. He did well, but my god Lennox would have done him seriously early.
Seems like they’re absolutely loving him over there. The criticism has always been that Fury isn’t as entertaining in the ring as out of it but his last two fights have been great to watch for two totally different reasons. I hope he has a good reign he’s clearly the best out there but it’s heavyweight boxing. Who’d of guessed this a couple of years ago
I usually like The Guardian's reporting compared to other sources, but some of the guys that do rbr on here put their boring reporting to total shame: Tyson Fury wins by second-round TKO! Fury connects with a cracking uppercut out of a southpaw stance that ignites the crowd. Schwarz opens up and lands a few shots, cornering Fury briefly only for the big man to escape and fire back a combination. Schwarz backs up Fury along the ropes once more and unloads, but Fury dodges nearly every punch of it was stylish upper body movement. Now it’s Fury opening up and down goes Schwarz under a hail of punches. He makes it to his feet, but Fury comes in for the finish. One after another he connects with power shots until Kenny Bayless puts a stop to it with six seconds left in the round. FacebookTwitter 34m ago05:04 Round 1 Fury spends the opening round almost exclusively shooting jabs at Schwarz as the German walks forward and tries to cut off the ring. Fury is scoring well with the punch, touching Schwarz at will, and now he’s starting to put the right hand behind it. He relaxed and moving around the ring nicely. An easy round for him.
Tyson looked good but Schwarz had absolutely no business being in the same ring as him. Let’s hope his September or October fight is a bit better.
A joke choice of an opponent. Tyson Fury is not going to get away with facing such an easy opponent again as that, and still be able to push this "linear champion" bull **** We all knew that though when Schwarz's name was announced and we saw the Gashi performance. This result wasnt any surprise.
Fury looked awesome, yes Schwartz is poor but he's no worse than pianeta and compare the two performances. Fury is exceptionally talented, we just have to hope he stays in shape MENTALLY. I honestly belive the only current heavyweight that can beat fury is himself.
There’s not a heavyweight on the planet who possesses his skill set but he still doesn’t have a meaningful win in the last 4 years. If he wants to push the lineal champ stuff then he needs to go out and defeat the best of the division. His next opponent needs to be top 10/15. Povetkin, Parker, Kownacki, Kabayel, Joyce, Whyte, Pulev, Hrgovic, Kuzmin. I’ve got a feeling it will be Trevor Bryan.
He looked great, more snap and better timing than the wilder fight. But what a promotional job theyve done with him, from the ring walk to the performance and the smart thing not throwing him back in with wilder just yet. Compare that to AJs downfall and I think after that he stands clearly the number 1 in the division now both in terms of skill and popularity.
Let's not get too carried away here. This fight will have bombed. There were nine thousand people in attendance.
Everyone moaning about the opponent.... Yes shwarz is poor but he has the ranking and they are trying to build tyson up in America now to get him a proper following and make the wilder fight even bigger. Makes sense in my eyes. So far he's had two fights in the US, the first a great fight which everybody loved. Great story behind it as well. The second fight he's headlining Vegas fighting an undefeated ranked fighter (forget the quality) and boxes his ears off to an esrly stoppage. Its got to be bang on plan for tyson at this point and by the time the wilder rematch comes back around the money and interest in the fight will be absolutely huge.
2 years ago everyone thought Fury was completely finished. To this day, people say he's boring and dull and has a horrible style. Now, he's in America doing the Apollo Creed / Uncle Sam entrance and putting on an entertaining fight. Schwarz was a terrible opponent. But he at least tried in there, to be fair. UK fans should be glad we have Fury. We've never had a fighter like this before and unlikely to again.
But repeatedly saying 'forget Schwarz is rubbish' doesn't actually mean those who watched forget he's rubbish, or indeed stop him being rubbish. Because for all the talk of these sort of fights bringing Fury to the attention of a new audience, do they? I mean, this fight appears to have bombed. All the talk beforehand was that Schwarz had no business being in the ring. Not really sure what it proves.
