* Ben Damon explained why will we never see Bud , Loma and Fury on Fox unless its PPV. Its seems Top Rank charges more than double that of any other promoter to show their cards . So unless these fighters leave TR or are in a cross promotional with PBC they will be on the sidelines on Fox. The Maloney twins who recently signed with TR and were on Fox Sat was not a TR promotional card. The Fury fight was $ 35 on Sky TV in NZ. * Looks like Brock Jarvis will be on the sidelines for a while. Jarvis is in a Bangkok Hospital after receiving a twisted testicle that required emergency surgery. The operation and overnight bed cost his trainer Jeff Fenech $ 12000. * CW Khalid Barker who is on parole and trying to clear his name of a murder conviction won his third pro fight Sat Melb Pavilion. * Cheeky May had a victory in 1st rd over Jose Tamayo in Tijuana Mexico. Single left hook to the liver. Cheeky has big fight July 17 on ESPN. * Pacquiao camp is so impressed with Tim Tszyu they have invited him to join his camp in LA forr three weeks. Pacquaio declared " Nobody makes me think like Tszyu " * Daniel Lewis who has signed with Top Rank its seems is not making his debut in the States June but is headlining a local card June 21. Our Super Middles need to fight each other or they're going to end up like Bilal Akkawy when they do step up. One of them should at least be willing to take on that Kiwi. That none of them have is something of an indictment. Yes he hits hard but if they aspire to fight for world titles one day, they should be willing to take him on. I saw all four fights from last night - a couple last night & the other two today on replay. Auimatagi & Dessaix did what they were supposed to & won well. Jason Moloney's fight only lasted three rounds but he got a decent workout. Andrew Moloney's opponent quit cold in the second & he didn't.
Aumatagai Might be a good comeback fight for Akkaway and he has a minor strap to boot. Both hit hard so would be a cracker. Mose has a bloody good chin though so might be a risk as a comeback fight.
He's a dangerous opponent for our guys. No doubt about it. Which appears to be one of the reasons why none of our Super Middles have fought him yet. Our top Super Middles won't fight each other & haven't fought the top Kiwi. I presume money is a reason why none of those fights has happened but I certainly hope some of them do. And soon while they are still relevant.
Yeah it's **** weak and I think questions need to be asked of his managerial team,Jai has been a bit unlucky with opponents pulling out etc but I believe a better promoter would have been able to secured better opposition then the level he continues to face. At 17-0 and as 1 of our best prospects he's had more fights then Tim Tszyu who gets continually gets in here for who he has fought and he definitely needs to step it up and maybe even change teams if he is to ever fulfill his potential imo.
While I definitely think the older guys need to go through a more intense medical before being passed fit to fight, the great thing about this sport is that so many guys are fighting at the highest level and even peak in there late 30's early 40's.
Yeah he might need to get a better promoter as he's well past domestic level now. There's the David Light fight I bet that fight doesn't get made for a while as they won't want to risk their zeros.
You are so transparent it is obvious that you are trying to justify your man Jeff Horn's resume that is a whose who of fighters well past it on the wrong side of 35
That's your obsession not mine I am a passionate aussie and will always support our fighters but if you even had the slightest clue, you would realize I follow more then just 1 fighter and my knowledge extends past just boxing in Australia
Slightest clue about you? Why would I want to read your other posts all my interactions with you have shown that you are just a fan boy who doesn't know much about the sport. You continue to prop up Aussie fighters who have not achieved very much.
You don't have the slightest clue about much about the sport which has been proven on multiple occasions and the fact you turned a simple discussion point into your personal delusional Horn obsession is on you and shows who the real fan boy is. I support the aussie fighters but unlike you I don't let my personal issues interfere with calling out fighters, trainers, promoters etc from here when it's necessary
You are the one who quoted my post, I have no interest in discussing boxing with you as you are totally clueless.
* Opetia is ducking no one. Bilal Laggoune who Opetia was going to face in his own backyard twice before twice pulled is WBO no 8 and his opponent who pulled out of Star City card was African WBO Champ. Yes his Kiwi opponent ( his second in a row ) is not a world rated opponent but is obvious Opetia camp is trying to build up hype for a Transman clash with Kiwi David Light ( who when the latest WBO rankings come out next should have a WBO ranking. ) This clash is not ready for PPV yet and will be worth the wait. * Jason Maloney has great chance for a World Title with the WBA 118 lb Title vacant and Jason hoping to fight no 1 Venezuelan Liborio Solis who is 37 yrs old. * With Jeff Horn fighting Michael Zerafa Aug 31 Bendigo Stadium ( capacity 4000 ) it will be intriguing who Tim Tszyu vs in his third fight ? How about Daniel Lewis who is now fighting at 154 lbs and beat Tszyu as a AM ? Liam Wilson fought for Aust Title in his 3rd pro fight and Francis Chua fought then WBO no 2 LW Kye Mackenzie in his 6 pro fight and didn't have the AM pedigree of Lewis. * Rob Whittaker has been informed to prepare for UFC 243 Oct 6 the same date as NRL GF. Dana White will decide in the next few weeks if it will be held in Melb Marvel Stadium ( capacity 60000 ) or if its held in the States the likely destination T Mobile Arena Las Vegas ( capacity 20000 ) * Fox going to show some UFC this June 24 Sun from 11 am to 2pm ESPN. Headlined by FW clash Renato Maicaro vs Sung Korean Zombie Jung. ( Please check guide and subject to change )
Yeah I don't believe Jai is ducking anybody either, that's disappointing that Suncorp isn't in the running for that UFC243 card but Marvel Stadium with the roof and larger capacity was always going to be a preferred option since they basically never holds there events in outdoor stadiums.
